Yes, you're right. However, not having a large age difference is still one less thing to worry about for the OP.

I was simply trying point out the fact that their age gap of 9 years was really not a problem in the Philippines, based upon my experience.

God Bless & MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I don't see anywhere on any paperwork to be submitted to UCSIS or any questions anywhere asking about your religion, so I don't know why it is relevant if nowhere it asks for your religion.

Embassies in some religiously conservative countries see opposing religious views as a sign of potential immigration fraud (relationship only for immigration purposes), since their families/communities would not endorse a mixed religion marriage. Every embassy takes into account more than just what the forms ask for when adjudicating a visa application.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Age difference can be overcome with evidence of a relationship and/or marriage. (We were a CR-1, married in the Philippines) The age difference between my wife and I is 36 years! Age differences are somewhat common in the Philippines. But I also accompanied my wife to the embassy in Manila for her interview. The consul asked me more questions that they did my wife. It never hurts to have the spouse or fiance present at the interview.

Good luck, GOD BLESS and Merry Christmas,

Aloha from Hawaii, David

Hi David! OP, Joan and I are 29 years apart. Neither the age difference (yours in very minor!) nor religion was ever mentioned at the interview (I was also in Manila for the interview). I think you will be fine as long as you two understand and respect your differences. Good luck.

Thats true. But we all know that they always do background check.

You have no timeline. Depends on what country the immigrant is coming from and what religion/s you are talking about as well as cultural norms in the country from where the immigrant is coming from.

Good luck, God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Yes David, I haven't started my timeline yet. Co we're going to send our pcket by January because my fiancée is waiting for hisW2.

ThankYou. Yeah . I'm not worried about our Age gap though. We just happened to talked the worst case scenarios, I guess because we're both too nervous even before filing .

No financial support documents are needed in the initial filing package, only at the interview. Go ahead and file now, before the fees increase on Dec 23rd :-)

Sorry. I didn't get that well.

Ah. Ok. In JWs kids have the right to choose later on. We'll just hope we wont encounter questions on this. ThankYou for the help.

Whilst I don't think your religious views will cause any problems (you are both essentially Christian, just different varieties), I wouldn't take the approach of "we will hope we won't get asked about this". Be prepared to be asked about anything and everything at your interview. Depending on your age, they may ask about children. I wasn't asked about children but we are 42 and 50 so the question is as good as redundant for us. COs can ask anything at interview. I was asked about my father's job and how long he worked overseas. My father isn't even immigrating and my parents divorced many years ago and I had no contact with my father for a long time. But I was asked about his job!

Hoping you don't get asked about something is not a good preparation technique. That said, it doesn't sound like your case is particularly difficult from what you've posted here. But two people contemplating marriage and who are of child-bearing age should most definitely have discussed their plans on how they will raise their children.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!
