What Visa is needed for spouse where husband is not living in US

Yes, I am saying that IF the person ALSO, say, wanted to take a course that is interesting to them...they COULD get a student visa to do that, and see family while here.

I already said several times that the Tourist visa is the most appropriate one.

Now, why is the student visa not an option IF they wanted to take a course AND see family?

If they wanted to take a course and did so, what is illegal about that, exactly?

I need no such admonition.
