Hello my VJ fellows.

I wanna share our problem with you and hopefully you can help me tho.

Well we submitted our K1 case with an agency located in Las Vegas,NV on 29/06 and we've got the NOA1 at 05/07 and then the NOA2 at 23/08 and then the NVC sent a letter to my fiancée on 19/09 stated that they received our approved I-129F from the USCIS and then they will forward it to the American embassy here in Cairo and that it might take several weeks,we were so happy and excited that our journey is almost done and we will be able to be together very soon as we planned before.

We waited for 2 weeks and then contacted our agency to inquire about our case and they said that it might take up to 2 month, we started to be worried and frustrated, then after two month i checked our case status on CEAC and i found that its Ready since 26/09 so i submitted my DS-160 and I've got the online confirmation tho but i didn't get anything from the embassy so far, meanwhile I've receiving notifications daily as new couples got their interviews or visas however we were either having the same timeline or they they applied after us.

Then we started to try find out whats really going on :

1- tried to call the hotline 35311460 -16872 - 090070600 and they said that they are only concerned with the non immigrants visas and the can't help me tho and gave me an email to contact the embassy.

2- I've sent almost 6 emails at cairoiv@state.gov and I've got nothing so far.

3- my fiancée sent an email to the congressman seeking his help but we are still waiting for response.

4- we even thought that she might come to Cairo as she will be able to enter the embassy and check whats going on.

so we really seek your help to advice us if anyone had had same situation before and what did he/she do, and is there is anyway else to reach the embassy to inquire about our case status ?

Thanks

Try posting in regional forum. I haven't seen any cases that have gone through Kairo but I know that other North African embassies can be really difficult to contact and slow in processing due to being a high fraud region.

I hope you find your answers, much luck to you!

Let me tell you something. It's a lot better that you read about the papers and submit it yourself than rely on an agency or lawyer. We hired a real certified lawyer not agency to avoid mistakes he gave us more headache and wasted more time from us. We could have been finished by now but he wasted 5 months on us and charged us $4000 .

you are right we also has been charged with almost 1000$ but whats done is done, we thought that its better to get help by a professional agency rather than ruining our case.

P.s : do you have any idea what shall i do tho?

I would try again to reach the congressmans office... call or go in person instead? Technically K1 visas are non-immigrant... but different embassies process it differently... wow sucks how much you guys payed!

And, Varsegod! I wish I could be more of help

You need to sign up on ustraveldocs.com

Create a profile, pay the interview fee, and schedule your interview

The interview is scheduled online. You do it yourself once you've paid the fee to the CIB bank.

An agency is a waste of money. They will only slow you down. The process is straight forward.

You should have gotten an email from the embassy with the FULL instructions. Its often called Packet 3 (referenced here on visa journey as well). They no longer mail this information - its an email.
