Maybe someone has the answer, A coworker of over12 yrs

was hired on a new job, welcomed etc, was called to HR by

the new job after one day & told he has the old GC,searching

he could not find the new one however he was cleared with

E verify & they could have contacted the old job (the same biz)

They told him he's terminated after he explained he did not

notice he has been carrying the old card, USCIS gave him

a next Tues appt to come in to replace & get reciept.

He asked me what I'd do I say go to EEOC on Tues afternoon if they

say he cannot have the job upon handing them proof, he's still

searching his home for his recent card that expires 2019

What can he do

Yes thats what I was told, however he said because his social had

some mark 'approvnd by INS' thats what sparked the questions, also

he says he found on the web some place that while an old employer

can accept all his proofs a new employer does not have to, but I think

the decent thing the HR should have done is give him a few days timeline

or start him on a probation for 3 wks with a request then to produce it.

Hope things work out for him he just closed on his

home with one kid in college . Thanks for responding

Well hello there, so I spoke to him today, he was allowed to do biometrics at

the appt with uscis this morning, they gave him a receipt that he'll take to

his embassy to get a temp PP (mostly issued for emergency travel) and he

said the IO was great & told him to return tomorrow with the temp PP to be

stamped with I 551. He was also called by another member in new job HR to

see how its going, while the former job reached out to see if things were

sorted out.

I posted this for info to others not in possession of their PP, how difficult it

can be without I 551 stamp or GC.

He has also requested form to naturalize

@ Mrsmichel I guess it based on their workload, his was an expedited situation
