Hello everyone,

I am a Green Card holder, I am intending to bring my 14 y.o. kid to US, I filed I130 on April 2016 and got approved letter on August, since then I don't get any letter from NVC?

What should I do next after USCIS approval.

I really appreciate if you share with your experience

Thank you,

Milly

You will have to wait until your son's PD to become current.

For October 2016, the current PD is December 22, 2014. It will probably be another 1 1/2 year before your son's case will be current.

Oh God, so it will take such a long time??? So should I call NVC to get the IIN and the case number?

And whats the PD?

So NVC is holding the cases up to 2 years? I thought since you get approved at USCIS the NVC will not take long time.?

For Immediate Relative cases (USC petitioner required), then it would not take long at the NVC after USCIS approves the I-130.

For Family Based cases like yours where the petitioner is an LPR, visas are limited. Your son needs to wait for an available visa. The current wait when an LPR petitions for an unmarried child is about 2 years.

How did you get your green card? US spouse?

I have got my GC through the marriage with USC but we are separated now

I have a very sad story... My husband has a drinking problem so our marriage failed, the other reason He didnt want to apply for my son (his step-son)

So I had to file by myself as a LPR

Sorry.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait for your son's PD to become current to continue the case.
