Scammed by online boyfriend and he faked a marriage contract

I met an Egyptian man a year ago on an International Dating Site. I was suppose to go see him and one day before I was to leave on myf light he told me he was arrested and not to come. In addition to being heartbroken, I lost money on flight and a flat I rented with him in Hurghada Egypt. What really concerns me however is he asked for my picture and passport and told me he got a marriage certificate. What concerns me is that he could somehow use this agaisnt me. Any advice on what I should do? Thank you.

This resembles a real marriage cert issued by the Ministry of Justice, But its not completed marriage until you sign-printed your name 5 times on each one issued. And you have to be there to do that, plus at M of J they check all paperwork, mostly the Letter of Permission to marry in Egypt by the US Consulate there, and don't sound like you have been to Egypt lately to get married much less visit the US Consulate there to obtain the Permission Letter, he has done a good job of a fake Certificate of Marriage. Most likely he used one from his former or a current wife.

NEVER ever send a man you never met face to face, known him in person (not internet) for a long time, met his family, friends, see's where he lives, works, name rank and serial number. Blah Blah Blah any information on you much less your passport information. Put your brain back in your head.

He is scamming you, dump him , move on, and don't give any person your info. EVER!!! And for Lords sake, don't send money to him.......

And I have to ask, how old is he?, he looks like a kid I have an n Egyptian nephew who is 12 who looks older then him.

Yes thank you everyone! I believed it to be fake! I will admit I did a lot of stupid things with him because I was in love! No I definitely do not want to be with him! I am ashamed for sending my passport to this man, who obviously just a scam artist! Yes I think he chickened out on me at the last minute.. But to his gain he received money for a hotel room and other things.. Again I am more than embarrased that I was taken in by his false promises and obvious lies!! I am glad to know this is a fake document. (No I was not there to give it to him, the fingerprint it is obviously someonelse. So given it is a fake I feel that there is nothing he could do.. Examples being he and his family could emigrate to the US.. Thanks so much for all you input and advise!! Just as help to anyone else who faced this, I am reporting him to the Western Union Fraud department for falsely promising me a hotel room for my stay there!

Bottom line I learned a difficult lesson and will never do that again! Thank you everyone

How is he gonna emigrate with his family with that document thats not even possible.

And i dought uscis cares he got money for you for a hotel....and he had picture of you so it looks like you aided him with his lie and false dicument until he stood you up.

AnitaFelix., I did not think it possible either for him to emigrate to the US, my Egyptian friend scared me and told me he could, which in my right mine knew was not possible. My biggest concern if I had another relationship with a real man there he could have me arrested if he found out, because there is Sharia Law there! That was my biggest scare, but I now know it was just fake.

In regards to flat rental I know the USIs could care less, but Western Union would like to know so that he can not do this again to someonelse.. Which I am sure he did.. So that part doesn't matter here! Thank you for your help?

For women? Remember her biggest concern is if she meets a real man for another relationship how this fake license may get her arrested.

I believe my biggest concern would be that a scammer has all my personal info to do God know what with.

I mean did she really need to ask if this was a fake? She knew the fingerprint wasn't hers so immediately it's false.
