how to get a K-1 Fiancé Visa(merged)

I am in Ghana and I met my soon husband to be through the internet about a year ago. We have stayed in touch for so long but neither he or me has visited each other, we plan that I apply for the K-1 Fiance Visa so that we can get married as soon as am with him in US. its this possible please.

I think in some cases it is possible, if you have A LOT of proof that you stay in contact and a lot of video chats and proof of a genuine relationship.

But I also want to say that it is easier if you two meet first, and gather lots of photos, passport stamps and proof that you two are really together.

If you two have a really hard time meeting eachother, it could be possible, but I strongly suggest meeting eachother first if that is possible.

You will need to buy a plane ticket or he will and you both must have met in person physically within the last 2 years prior to applying for the K1. Its the biggest requirement for the K1 - without it your petition will likely not be approved.

As said, you'll need to meet first. It's difficult to get the K1 approved in Ghana - so do your research. Maybe the spousal visa is a better option for you? Read the guides and forums on here. Also, your boyfriend is a US citizen, right? That is also a requirement for the K1 visa.

As stated above, you need to meet in person before. Which means your fiancé will need to come visit you in Ghana since it's very difficult to get tourist visa. And he should plan to visit a couple times. One visit isn't enough in the eyes of this embassy.

You and your fiancé should read through this forum to get an idea of what you are up against. Ghana is a very tough embassy, especially on K1s.

Ghana is currently one of the toughest embassies to go through and you MUST meet within 2 years of filing and you SHOULD meet more than

once or the visa will likely be refused. The petition should be front loaded, do a google search in the VJ search bar for reasons why.
Subscribe to the Ghana forum and familiarize yourself with the pattern that Ghana applicants experience with this embassy.
This is not easy and it often takes a long time and is an expensive undertaking.
It is not a walk in the park.

Forget about the reasons where (hardly ever) meeting waivers are granted, even if granted by USCIS the embassy would refuse the visa.
