If your lungs didn't look OK, then the TB test is mandatory. I read the CDC guidelines (Centers for desease control), and the culture test is also mandatory; as you know now, it takes 8 weeks. The test to find out if you have TB doesn't take that long, at least this is what I was told when I took my medical in Mexico last year. I don't really know if the procedure is the same around the world, but in Mexico, if the person tests positive, they contact the applicant right away and start treatment. The lab needs to run the culture even if you're preliminary results are positive OR negative.

There is a waiver for TB but I don't know the specifics, let's put the waiver aside, because you may not need it, just keep in mind there is one and you'll need to research in depth IF you need it, not before (Form I-690).

You said it has been 6 weeks, the culture takes 8 weeks, so you have 2 more weeks to go, and in your case, no calls is better than receiving a call to tell you to start treatment. You may have a date when the doctor is going to send the info to the consulate, if they don't call you before, then you're clean and you can proceed to the interview.

I wish you very good luck.

I went through this process

frustrating but nothing you can do

reschedule interview few days after 90days of sputum test

you'll get your visa if there's no active tb otherwise you'll need to get treatment

Oh, what a day, what a lovely day!

Zorus 40k, i have done my medical in IOM. They told me sputum cultulre takes 8 weeks which is 2 month. 6 week already gone. Two months will be over in oct 4 and if i passed the test they will send the report to the embassy and embassy will give me a new date.
