Submit Evidence since the beginning of relationship or since approval of GC?

It's time for me and my Spouse to start gathering documents to fill our form to Remove Conditions of Temporary Residency.

I read in many places that you should only submit documentation that covers the time frame between the Approval of the temporary GC until now, because there is no need to submit evidence that has already been.

But I also read in the Official site and heard from some people that you should submit evidence covering the whole period of the relationship, someone told me since it might be a different officer interviewing us in case we get asked to go to and interview, It is nice to have evidence covering the whole period of relationship because it helps them understanding the bonafide of your marriage, they said.

But since when we first filled we submitted SO MUCH evidence, pictures, print screens from virtual relationship etc etc etc we would like to not have to go through submitting all those papers again and focus more in statements of our joint bank accounts, joint bills, joint tax returns etc...

Also because when I was proposed to, it was my first trip to the USA and it was supposed to have been just a fun vacation from my college, but my husband surprised me with a proposal, we skyped my family and asked for their permission, they were somewhat choked but ok with it. We did research and figure out we could adjust to a temporary green card.

But from our understanding we are no longer adjusting from a visa to a green card we are adjusting from a TEMPORARY GREEN CARD to a PERMANENT ONE therefore we would rather focus in covering the evidence from that period (Between the approval of the GC and now.) rather than have to go way back and explain everything again and gather all the docs again.

So what is you guys advice? Is it better to submit documentation since the beginning or just since the approval of the temporary GC and now? Can we do the second option and bring copies of what we submit on the first interview in case they ask for it?

Thank you all for your time in advance!

You have to submit evidence that covers from the time of your marriage to your time of filing. This is clearly stated on page 5 of the I-751 instructions and I quote:

"Submit copies of documents indicating that the marriage upon which you were granted conditional status was entered in “good faith” and was not for the purpose of circumventing immigration laws. Submit copies of as many documents as you can to establish this fact, to demonstrate the circumstances of the relationship from the date of the marriage to the present date, and to demonstrate any circumstances surrounding the end of the relationship, if it has ended."

Awesome! Thank you, So we will be submitting only documents from the marriage day until now :)

I don't understand how this is possible for people who were separated during the CR-1 visa process. I wasn't allowed to add my name to any of the accounts, lease, you name it until I got my social security number after I moved here.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Yeah, I think most are going to be in the same boat re financial co-mingling. But there are other kinds of evidence. Evidence that you visited him for example, while waiting, or that he visited you, would help to indicate that your relationship wasn't for immigration purposes only.

I'm going to submit my son's birth certificate, and he was born while my husband's visa was processing, so that's evidence from before the GC.
