Another checklist - supervisor review for Police character report. Very aggravated~

Hi guys,

So the road keeps getting bumpy as we travel through NVC. First I got a checklist in July 23, 2016 for a Nigerian police report. We sent it to them and waited 5 weeks today (09/01/16) only to be told that the Abu Dhabi police report we submitted months ago to them is not the "right" one. The rep who told me this didn't even know what the checklist was for. She kept putting me on hold. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me there was no one available. She asked me to hang up and call back, that she can't keep me on this line. Can you imagine?

So I hung up and redialed the number and this time another woman told me the same thing but kept saying that they need a police report from "Central Police Headquarters in UAE". I explained to her that there is no such thing as central police dept. Rather, they have "Ministry of Interior, Abu dhabi GHQ". So apparently, they were reading from NVC reciprocity schedule page for UAE. Here's the link https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html.

I argued because what I submitted is the only and official police report from Abu dhabi which is where I live. I got it from the police headquarters. Paid 50 dirham, and 100 dirham for interpreting. I submitted both copies to them.

I demanded for a supervisor again and this time a supervisor came to the line and I narrated my story and he apologized, explained clearly and told me that this case has been forward to SUP REVIEW. He said they will look into this matter to find out if there's a different police certificate of good character. He said the review won't take up to 6 weeks again.

I have searched the web to see if there's a different report from what I submitted. I want to make sure my argument is not in vain. Here's a sample of what my interpreted report looks like. Please see attachment. There's no such thing as central police dept in UAE like i told them.

Does anyone know of a different police certificate from UAE other that what I attached here? Please help!

We submitted a police report from Abu dhabi to NVC and 5 weeks later we got a checklist letter. A rep I spoke to told me that they need a police report from "Central Police Headquarters in UAE". I explained to her that there is no such thing as central police dept. Rather, they have "Ministry of Interior, Abu dhabi GHQ".

This is what the checklist letter said:

______10 - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES POLICE CERTIFICATE:________________

We cannot accept the police certificate document you sent. You must send us the correct document so we can continue to process your case. To see the guidelines for your document, go to our website at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html. Enter your country of birth in the box at the top of the page. The next page will be your country's "reciprocity schedule". Click on "Police, Court, Prison Records" on the left-hand side. This will take you to a page with the exact requirements for the type of police certificate you must submit to the NVC.

If your documents are not in English or the language of the country where you will have your interview, you must include a certified translation. The translation must include a statement that says the:

I argued because what I submitted is the only and official police report from Abu dhabi which is where I live. I got it from the police headquarters. Paid 50 dirham, and 100 dirham for interpreting. I submitted both copies to them. I want to make sure my argument is not in vain. Does anyone know of a different police Certificate other than the one from the GHQ? Check my attachment to see what the copy we sent looked like (this is not mine).

iam not sure about abhudhabi as i got it from Dubai but i think nvc might be correct ,you have to get a police clearance form General Department of Criminal Investigation & it will clearly state on bold letters POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE &at bottom of the certificate would be a stamp and signature of a deputy form criminal investigation department and also will state that this clearence certificate is for Immigration to usa.I hope all this is there in your certificate. Some people get Good conduct certificate from Police Ghq but thats not a clearance certificate.
