Coming back into the USA from Canada last week through Vancouver, I understood the guy at customs and inspection saying he was from Texas and maybe about 3 other words. I just handed him our passports and smiled and hoped I wasn't agreeing to anything bad. Seriously, If we don't require that Americans learn to speak proper English, I'm not sure why we would require that immigrants have to.

On a previous jaunt I had a cabbie threaten to to stop suddenly and have me thrown through the front window just because I had the audacity to tell him a short cut (he complained I was trying to control his life!).

Another one couldn't even take me to my destination 3 blocks away, so I told him to stop halfway and refused to pay anything.

Year 2016, average cost of GPS navigation device is 100-150$. Why can't they enforce GPS units in Cabs? Especially in NYC, where the number of international tourists are highest in the whole nation.

My experience? The GPS navi system in NY is rubbish. I gave the cabbie an address , he input it into the system, and I ended up at a completely different place.
