Hello. I am/was in an abusive and controlling marriage until now, when I decided to leave the USA and head back home. We met last year and it all felt forced. He rushed me to move to the usa despite me wanting to wait a while. We had only seen each other on 2 separate visits before I finally came and we got married. I did not want to do it and do It so fast because that meant that I would have to give up my entire life I built for me and my child. When I arrive for the final time everything went south and the serious abuse began. Every form of abuse I endured. In January I left and went to a battered woman's shelter. And i allowed him to convience me that he was changed.Being an immigrant I felt hopeless and with the abuse he made me feel like I only him. Back in November he filed for our green card (my daughter and i) and at the time we were waithing for the process to go through. In march the abuse was unbearable and I left again to go to the battered woman's shelter and during that time my daughters green card was denied so I decided to send her back. Again I went back home to him. In April I got fed up and got a plane ticket to head back home which I stayed for 2 weeks. He came to the island and persuaded myself and my family that he had change. Still at this time my case was still pending. I left and went back with him and the abuse continued. Then I found out I was pregnant and the abuse stopped on the physical side. We had my interview where the interviewer approved my green card and stated that his supervisor would have to over look the case because I left during the process but so far it was approved from what he was looking at and everything would be mailed. Durning the waiting process i couldn't take it any more and I left again for a shelter this time the police was involved. While in the shelter I decided that I would go back to the island because the situation was to stressful for me given i am pregnant. A few days ago i had someone contact my husband and he stated that a letter came in and my green card was denied. She asked to offer legal advice given that she was a lawyer but he refuse to with a bunch of excuse. So it led me to believe that he has it but is noy willing to give it to me. Do i have any fighting chance in this matter while not being in the united states. I'm afraid to go back on my visa and what do I do in regards to having my child.

As far as finding out if you were denied a green card, contact immigration or tell him to mail you the denial letter.

If you were approved and he does not want to hand over a green card to you then contact a lawyer.

this is not going to be possible he isn't giving me any and he's been ignoring in regards to the pregnancy. As for a lawyer I cannot afford it because i lost everything when o moved and he made sure i had nothing and depended on him alone. He destroyed everything of value he could get his hands on And holding onto what ever documents that got left behind is another one of his controlling and abusive tactics. I'm not in the USA where I can get free legal aid. And why im asking is because i have persons telling me not to let him win and to come back and fight and not to have the baby In my home contry and not to deprive the child because of a spiteful and abusive spouse

You are not depriving the child of everything you are saving yourself and your 2 children from going up in a abusive home.

its not to go back to him. That's not an option. But rather living with her and sorting out everything that I have to. I wrote to find out my options in regards to going back and getting everything done without him and having the baby.what do I do about divorce?

When you left during your AOS process, did you have an AP card? If you did not have an AP card and left during AOS then it's true it was denied. If you had an AP card then he is lying to you.

I'm so very sorry. Abusers rarely ever change as they are damaged and dangerous. Shame on him. I would also suggest that you stay in your home where your family is. Take care.....

Sounds like a K-1 or a Visitor's visa but definitely not a spousal visa cos she said she came here and got married here.
