Does any one know what happens internally after taking your biometrics?. I thought USCIS submits your biometrics to the FBI right after they take them, I googled FBI processing times for 2016 and the offical website states it may take between 11 and 14 weeks, My questions are. do they start processing your application after they get the OK from the FBI or before?. Im an early Dec application and last week I called to get an update, TIER2 told me they started my packed in June, What happened before that? why people that sent off their pakage at the same time or even later got already their application processed ?. How different is this process from AOS? .

It has passed that time, never got a RFE letter , I know my background check will come up clean. The worst part is the lack of information and how arbitrary all this is .

When did you file your I-751?

If you are still married and it has been 3 years minus 90 days since the "Residence since" date on your GC, you can file your N-400. This will eventually force USCIS to adjudicate your I-751.

You know what gets my goat about all this? $505. They charge you to "adjudicate" your I-751, don't get around to doing a damned thing for a year, then charge you AGAIN to "adjudicate" your N-400.

I think if you have to wait a WHOLE YEAR and they don't even touch your I-751, you should get a refund - or, your N-400 should be at no charge.

Who the heck pays $505 and gets nothing in return after a year?

I hear you! Hubby filed in March 2015, had his biometrics April 2015. Nothing all that time. Then suddenly he got a letter for new biometrics which he had done this month. I guess they finally got around to looking at his case and decided his first biometrics were too old

Shoot. I'm sorry you guys are still waiting indiana_sweetie. N400 wouldn't help with background checks but why don't you guys get going with that too? Once his background check clears, they will take care of them both together. Given that it's been almost 1.5 years, I hope it wouldn't take too much longer for you guys.

I can apply this coming Dec, however my point is, I paid for a service which is mandatory and they are not doing there part and if I want to push it i have to apply for naturalization which cost another $600 and even involve your state congressman .

Thanks. I contacted them in February of this year and asked about hubby's case. They replied "We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending." Because we moved, hubby needed to be a resident of our new state for 3 months before filing for his N400. In May I had major surgery, so it's been a slow process on our end, too.

Hi Susie,

You are so correct about this. It is down right lunacy that it takes this long. I am just now getting all our ducks in a row to file our I-751 on November 17th to the dungeon of the Vermont Service Center. Hope you guys are doing good. We are doing great. We have also decided not to travel during the period after the _551 expires. The idiots at Miami or even the airline in Santiago probably do not understand the one year extension letter. We don't want to chance any problems. You are also right, we will probably be filing our N-400 before we see the I-751 adjudicated.

That's why we have made the decision not to travel during this period of time. Don't need the hassle of the idiot immigration and airline folks.

Have you tried submitting a Service Request? Sometimes that forces them to touch your file.

Tried to submit one but i got this error message
