Why does a news article have a meme in it?

Depends on the person running it. I was surprised to find that a FOX news station from Dallas that I follow on Facebook posts a heavy amount of meme's either in their posting or as the picture to the post. Almost anyone can be a news author now a days, seems that most people either writing the news and/or news station social media managers are all young enough to where they feel meme's are more attention getting, and therefore more useful.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
