Hi everyone I'm anew member here in be ... My fiancé filed a k1 last April and we are both preparing necessary document to be presented at

Us embassy here in Manila.. Last 13 years ago I went to Japan twice.. First staying there exactly 6 months and my last trip I stayed like 5 months . Me and my fiancé find out that anyone whose been outside the country 6 months or more need a police certificate. My question is do I need a letter of request from us embassy before I can request a police certificate at Japan embassy in Manila or I can get it without a letter of request from us embassy here in Manila ... Anyone has a similar situation before or at the present ? Your advice or opinions is a big help for me thanks in advance...

I lived in Japan for two years (where I met my fiance) so I needed a Japanese police clearance certificate. I could apply for mine through the Japanese embassy in my country and it looks like you can too:

In case you're worried, I didn't need a letter from the US embassy first - I just explained what kind of visa I was applying for in the US and they seemed pretty familiar with the procedure.
