Info pass when out of status?

As you can see in my signature, we did not receive anything from uscis since our interview last summer. My husband went to info pass by himself, they told him to wait 30 days (thats what they always say, but it doesn't matter....), anyway, he will go back soon because they are not doing anything again. The thing is, he says that i shouldn't go into the building because i'm out of status and they can deport me if i go there, Lol. I really want to go with him next time. You think he is right and i shouldn't go? Thanks for your opinions.

Thank you, yeah we will if we get no results after the next info pass appointment in two weeks. Last time they told us (well, they told my husband) to wait 30 days, will see what they say this time. It's been 2,5 weeks so far after he went and nothing. But after that we are definitely going to contact our congressman.

The only problem I see is potential ID. We tried to go for an infopass and the door guard stated an expired GC was NOT a valid form of ID (even with the extension letter) and you need a valid form of ID to enter government buildings these days. It must be US ID not the foreign passport so a DL or non driver ID. As long as you have that you should be fine.

I also agree that 5 months is a long time to wait. Def contact the senator.

Thanks for your reply, Damara! I have an Illinois state ID and driver's license actually, so that wouldn't be a problem. And it's been 10 months, its crazy

A valid foreign passport is a perfectly valid ID. Lots of types of foreigners who can't get a driver's license or state ID need to go to USCIS offices to deal with things.

LOL. Believe me I know. Some Officers seem to have all the power go to their head. I mean what if you are undocumented and going to infopass for help? But arguing with the guy at the door when you have an appt upstairs is pointless. Banana Princess can be hassled so I was just trying to give her a heads up of something they may demand.

I never did get around to writing up my infopass review. It was an experience. From being hassled at the door to accidentally telling the metal detector operator that I had an IED. lol.

Anyway Princess is not going to get denied for showing up. I dont know that shes going to get much resolved either besides the front desk telling her they will look into the delay and wait another 30 days. Thats why the senator is a good move.

Was there anything in the interview? Papers missing or country of origin needing extra security? Common name? Trouble with getting prints? Living apart or stokes interview?

No, our interview went perfectly fine. We weren't even asked a lot, just simple questions from the submitted forms, the officer was really nice. She told us that she has 120 days to make the decision, so she will just review the papers and that's all. When my husband went to info pass last time they took the case to the supervisor and she said that there is a note from the officer who we had the interview with that more information is needed, so she said she will find out if she actually needs anything and we will receive something within 30 days. The thing i won't be surprised at all if they won't do anything, because a) we received nothing for 10 months b) they don't reply to service request, i called when 30 days passed and was told to go to info pass. i-130 is not even approved yet, and it's been 15 months after they received it. I seriously cannot believe this, the processing time for i-130 is 5 months.

No, you can't go by the I-130 processing time for concurrent applications. That is for stand-alone petitions only. The I-130 you have is tied to the I-485. Anyway, you can kiss normal processing times goodbye because you already had your interview. You are in in-country AP.
