Are you serious? You are concerned about the lack of periods in the OP's posts? Not everyone who comes to the US from another country is an English whiz, and I feel your post was not only very rude, but also very unnecessary.

OP, you are in a terrible situation. Please take the advice of those who are actually here to help, get all your important documents and belongings to a safe place. Know that your status will be safe, and although you are in fear of losing your schooling and job, you can overcome those obstacles. I wish you all the best.

Periods aren't exclusive to the English language. They end a thought no matter what language someone knows. It made the postings incredibly hard to understand.

Judging from your story, You NEED to be egoistic at this point and first of all make sure YOU are safe because nobody seems to care about your well being there. Don't feel inferior just because that is not your home country and you were not born there. You live there now. I'm sure you had to work hard for it and you deserve to be treated well just because you already had to go though emotional adjusting which is not a joke. I don't know which country you are from but moving from one country to another is a huge step and aside from number of paperwork and financial sacrifices it also includes a big emotional stress and adjusting to be done. You really should try your best to involve yourself in some social activities which would rise your chances to get friends there and that WILL make your life much easier! You need to escape that toxic environment as soon as possible and start a new life. Even if you tell yourself that your wives or her daughters attitude might change, don't lie to yourself. It never will. And even it will, not for too long. So just face the reality and act accordingly. Take care of yourself and all will be good.

If I understand your story correctly, you have been married for almost 6 years and you've had your 10 years green card for 2 years, that means you are over due for Citizenship.

Filing for citizenship is not compulsory, LPRs can stay LPRs... nothing is overdue on his story but his stay in a bad relationship.

I think you misunderstood the post. I don't think it was meant to imply citizenship is mandatory.

The OP's family is definitely pulling the "I have you a green card" power trip on him. Obtaining citizenship and divorcing will help get these abusers off his back. So many abusive USCs like to hold green cards over the heads of their victims.

The OP's family is definitely pulling the "I have you a green card" power trip on him. Obtaining citizenship and divorcing will help get these abusers off his back. So many abusive USCs like to hold green cards over the heads of their victims.

Or just leaving and cutting contact, then divorcing... would be even faster. Obviously he can file for citizenship, bit it doesn't seem to be a solution to his current situation. Abusive people would still make up stories and threats, thinking they have any power on his legal status.

My wife and her daughter and even my wife mom told me many times that they will deport me for not helping them or if i trying to move on or do something like that i have 10 year green card when i get here 2 years so its almost took 4 years to get my visa even during that time my wife cheat on me when i was not in states or home she had boy friend for over a year and she never pick up or email me back when i was trying to calling her from oversea i have proof that either she had bf for over a year or help during my process i forget it and forgive her for that and move on when i come here first few month was different so after that everything change i keep forgive her for what she did to me everyday i am living for life that could be better tomorrow but i guess not working with me i understand my wife have medical problems and i love her so much and i am trying to help her on bills and everything but she acting like i didnt do nothing for her and her family and her are same talking bad about me her mom get on phone for over a hours with her talking about me that dont let me go dont let do dont let he have new shoes new clothes new laptop or anything i mean i dont understand it at all but i know i decided that i will move out soon and i have plan for it

It takes three years of being a permanent resident while married to a citizen, to file for citizenship. He's only been a permanent resident two years. But that isn't his question.

OP, there is nothing they can do to take your green card away or deport you. You're a permanent resident and nothing they can say or do will change your personal status. Get out of that house, file for divorce and start a new life on your own without them. They can scream and shout about deporting you all they want, but no one is going to listen to their rants.
