Today I checked our online case status and was greeted with this message...

NOTICE EXPLAINING USCIS' ACTIONS WAS MAILED

On June 6th, 2016, we began reviewing your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Reciept Number WACXXXXXXXXXX. We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you do not receive your notice by June 20, 2016, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Can anyone help with what this means? I've tried finding some positive info on this site and all over Google but I keep finding posts that say it is a NOID (notice of intent to deny) yet I can't imagine them wanting to deny us at this stage. I worked in the US for 2 summers and my fiancé is a police officer. Surely that must stand for something to show this isn't a fake relationship.

Definitely sounds like a NOID. You can rebut it even if it's a NOID & get it approved.

My guess is it's NOA2 with a mistake message, or RFE with mistake message.

You will have to complete or add more proof of a bona fide relationship.

Highly doubtful. Proof of a bona fide relationship is not a requirement of the I-129F petition.

"action we intend to take" usually means NOID (Notice of Intent to Deny).

You have to wait to receive the letter to know for sure.

Similar thread (although AOS from K1), same wording, it turned out to be a NOID.

NOID Would be strange though without RFE first. Unless the OP did get a RFE and did not update their timeline.

*** Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Usually when it's an RFE it says "we mailed a request for additional evidence for your Form I-129F" on the online case status. This message you received means something else, like a NOID.

I've been scouring the Internet for hours now and finding mixed responses... Regarding the NOID, is that a complete denial or do we have 30 days to respond with further evidence? I read somewhere this is the case although I'm confused as to why there is an RFE if they give you chance to provide further evidence with NOID. Has anyone been in this situation before?

I was under the impression that NOID could only happen with CR1. With K1 applications they can only approve or deny but should provide an RFE for additional information. I agree I believe it is an RFE. The only way to really know is to wait for the letter from USCIS. it is easy to get caught up with information from the web.

These people seem to have gotten NOID on their K-1s, if the info is correct:

So am I right in thinking a NOID is on its way? My fiancé has been looking online and just informed me, and I hate to say it, but it's out fault. We didn't know we had to submit anything but I-129F and the check so I'm assuming they will be sending either NOID or RFE to gather the evidence we failed to produce. If we send all evidence, will our application be processed as normal?
