Hello everyone!....Im from honduras C.A., My fiance is a U.s citizen, we have like 8 years of our relationship!,...(Sorry for my english, i hope you can understand my words :).....So, we were engaged one year ago, on May 30 2015.....He has a little problems with work, so we are already to start for application visa. So we are confused with the process,...And im fear cause, i applied for a tourist visa in March, one month ago, reason for my job, but they denied my tourist visa.... so im fear for maybe they denied for a visa k1 when i go for a interview because maybe they will think that i just want to live in the usa for other reason...But we want to do the best, we have 8 years since i was 16 years old, we are in love, and we want to do the best for us, and do the better and more secure form to be together! so we are not sure for applicating for visa k1 fiance, and marriage in USA or visa k3 and marriage here in honduras, wich one is the more secure and correct?? please help us, thank you!

It'll be either K-1 or CR-1 visa. (They don't dont K-3 anymore really)

A denied tourist visa won't effect your K-1 :)

K-1 takes about 6 months now:

Have to marry in the us within 90 days. Can't work or travel out of the country for 90 days AFTER filing AOS

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

CR-1 takes about a year now:

You will get the 2 year GC when you enter and will be able to work and travel right away

Compare K-1 and CR-1:

This is a good question , and I think you have received good information from others. What I can say is that receiving a K1 (Fiance visa) can vary from place to place. It is not supposed to, but it does. For example my husband is from Sierra Leone and though I applied around same time for the K1 visa as my friend whose fiance was from Bolivia, theirs was approved and he was here by March 2014 and they were married in US by May 2014. Whereas ours was denied by August 2014. We later found out that because there were so many frauduant K1 visa requests the US Embassy in Sierra Leone no longer grants this visa, which they of course didn't tell us. So I eventually went back to Sierra Leone and married my sweetheart on May 2, 2015. We are now in the process of getting a CR1/IR1 visa, which I've been told should have no problem now since they can see our relationship is legitimate since we are now married. I don't want to discourage you, but just to let you know that this can be a long and patient process. In my opinion because of what we experienced I would advise getting married in Honduras and then applying for the CR1 visa. It is up to you, and I would advise finding others on this VisaJourney who have come from Honduras to see what they have specifically experienced in coming from your country. Whatever you do, don't give up, be patient, keep living your life as fully as you can, pray, and remember God still does miracles! My husband and I are living proof of that! God bless you as you go!

Sierra Leoneans interviewed in Senegal and then back in Freetown. If they stopped again in S/L then it could have been transferred

to Dakar, Senegal for the interview. They don't return it if you request the transfer.

I'm going through the K1 process with my fiance from Honduras (San Pedro). Both the K1 and CR-1 have their pros and cons, as linked above. The only method I wouldn't recommend is coming over on a tourist visa and getting married, since that risks visa fraud. The visa wait is a bummer, but at least it's totally legal and puts you on a nice path to eventual citizenship, if desired. We chose k1 mainly because it lets us live together sooner and we are recent fiances. We'll do an engagement lunch celebration in Honduras in July for her family, a quick legal courthouse marriage when she comes to the US (to get her access to my work benefits and start the permanent residency process), and then we'll plan the actual US wedding ceremony for next winter or spring.

My fiance had her tourist visa denied too, it doesn't matter legally, just makes our visits one way. Feel free to reach out if you want to talk about the process at all, we'd enjoy that. Good luck!
