I included my last three years of tax returns with my I-864 when we filed our entire AOS package in the fall. We just completed our tax return for 2015 and I want to bring this as evidence to our actual AOS interview since it will be the first year we've ever filed taxes as a married couple (MFJ). Will it suffice if I just bring copies of my W-2, 1099s, 1040, and 2555 form? I can't imagine the IRS having time to process our return and then a request for an official transcript during the busiest time in "tax season."

personal thought and what i have read before..that will be fine..they mainly want to see for the previous year at the time you started the process..so if you started the visa in 2015, then 2014 tax info is good enough.ive also prepared my paystubs for my wife to bring.every once in a while i add current ones to show im still working and the hours im working as well as what i make but have included the past 3 years of tax returns as i started the visa process in 2015 so i will not add that years tax returns.just this years pay stubs...hope this helps :)

For what it's worth, I filed a medium complexity 1040 return on Feb 4 and received my refund on Feb 18. The IRS site for ordering transcripts already shows my 2015 return as available for order.

Marriage: 2014-02-23 - Colombia    ROC interview/completed: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
CR1 started : 2014-06-06           N400 started: 2018-04-24
CR1 completed/POE : 2015-07-13     N400 interview: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque

@Russ&Caro did you file electronically? Unfortunately, I had to paper file mine because I needed to include a statement of election to treat my nonresident alien spouse as a us resident alien.

Yes, I did file electronically so as you are inferring, it will probably take more time to process your return.
