Hello I came to the US on a students visa and now I am married to a USC. We will be filing for AOS soon. I have a question. A long time ago I had a name change and all my documents are in my new name. Meaning my passport, all my US documents(such as my SSN, DL, Lease, evidences of bonafide marriage. Also all the legal documents from the country of origin are in my new name. When fling for my F-1 visa, I did not disclose my name and I saw that form G325 A also has a section to disclose any previous names used. I would not like to lie on any form and would like to be honest for a smooth process.

I do not have any evidence for my previous name as my Birth Certificate was also changed to my new name. I do not want to get an RFE for the old name because I would have no evidence to respond to that. I never had any problems with the law in either country and have ample proof of bonafide marriage. I would like to have some advice from experienced members here who may have also faced similar situation in their case. Hiring attorneys is very expensive so we would like to avoid that option is possible.

Thank you for reading our post.
