Dumb Question... i-94?

I am drawing a blank....

When I went to the DMV today i took my long form Birth Cert, Ontario Drivers Lic, and my passport.

They kept asking for a copy of my I-94.

Is that not the page that is added to the passport? or am I losing my mind?

My understanding is that you don't have an I94 because you immigrated instead of visiting. They should accept your visa as a substitute

According to your timeline, you are K-1. Even if you are able to get a driver's license based on K-1 status, it will likely expire at the end of the 90 days. The AOS will take up to a year. You should apply for EAD at the same time as applying for AOS, and when you get the EAD, you can get a driver's license based on the EAD.

I was told by others to get me Drivers Lic and SSN right away.

So yesterday after some time at the DMV they processed everything, had me do the written test, and I am going back this afternoon for the behind the wheel test.

Having my Lic and being insured to drive is important so I can get around and do some things. Where I live it's not like stuff is close to us so driving is something that comes in handy.

We are getting married this weekend, and I am planning on filing the AOS shortly there after.

It will still expire with your I-94, you will almost definitely have a period where you cannot drive because your licence is expired

Check your state laws, I was able to keep and drive with my Canadian DL.

I had to explain that the stamp in my passport was just like having a green card until the physical one showed up. There was a lot of checking in binders but they finally agreed that the stamped passport counted!

SSN was important right away but you have some time to drive on a Canadian license before you have to exchange it.
