The checklist states we need to send both copy of original birth certificate with English Translation, problem is they took the English translation at Olga's interview so we need another English translation?!

If so, I am very annoyed!

Just what I was going to say, we got copies of every thing and let the interviewer at the consulate keep the copies.

Appearently not, Olga had the translation done in Russia...I don't think she planned on them keeping it, and I did not know or I never would have sent my tax forms, along with the original documentation from the I-129F.

Thank goodness transcriptions are free...

*sigh* time to find a local translation service.

I'm still trying to figure out why DHS would need ANOTHER copy of it though since everything they kept is now "on file" (the term used my the USCIS officer at the local office.

Time for me to fess up....we did the same. Lost or gave away the translated copy of my wife's divorce certificate. Figured they had it in the file, but we were too nervous to go to the AOS interview without it. We e-mailed a scanned copy of her divorce certificate to one of her friends in Russia. Her friend took that and had a translation done that was then scanned and sent back to us. I printed out that copy and took it to our AOS interview and it's a good thing we did as it was one of the things the officer wanted to see. A happy ending. Hope you have the same.
