Has anyone else received a checklist, or seen anyone who has? I want to get an idea of how long it takes for the NVC to receive the information and then complete case... They told me my case was completed and finalized they were just waiting for this last bit of paperwork. I am hoping that means that people with checklists are in a separate pile (so to speak) and that the process will NOT take an additional 30-45 days.

Hi everyone,

So I called a few times 2 weeks ago to get my scan date and was given 12/18 the first time and then given 12/21 three other times - so am going off that date. I never received an email stating they received my documents though, just phone confirmation (of different dates nonetheless). Is it worth it to call to ask about the email? Has anyone else gotten an email with a scan date similar to mine?

Our scan date is 17/12/2015 but we got the email with the scan date on 01/01/2016. When I called the NVC, I was told it was normal to not receive such an email but you're given your scan date over the phone. After calling several times between the 17th December to 01 January just to make sure we didn't need this email, we finally received the email. My wife kept insisting we are suppose to receive this email and after not getting it, I called and spoke to several polite persons about it. They all informed me about the same scan date and told me that not getting the email doesn't mean something is wrong with your process. You may receive yours soon so just hold on.

I paid the AOS fee on 12/23 and the IV Fee on 12/24, both of them are still in process. Last time I called they told its still normal and they can forward to supervisor if I need to. If it doesnt change to PAID by tomorrow, should I ask for supervisor to review ? or will that may delay my case further.

I sent both packages on 12/29 and my scan date is 12/31. Appreciate any input .

Thanks [

Wait a few more days. Supervisor review is much longer.

Thanks fcbc47

You don't need a supervisor review. For what The Paid will appear in time. Just sit it out you just submitted you packages now sit back for the next 30 days. Don't mess it up to get a supervisor to check for PAID.

This is where patience will truly test you than you wait for Interview date. Hang on.

Thanks dwheels76 , That is a great advice.

I need advice. I just realized something that may potentially be a problem.

My husband was told his whole childhood that his last name was the same as his father's (name2). At a certain point he found out legally it was the same as another man, his biological father (name1). He only found out when he went into military service. After that he had it legally changed to the name of the Father that he knew (name2). And forgot all about it because throughout his life for school and everything else it was name2.

His passport has the name (name2) that was used for 99% of his life. But just now I realized when he requested his military record that it was in the name on his birth certificate (name1).

In the first packet sent to the USCIS name1 was listed under "other names used". Because our lawyer spotted it on his birth certificate vs. His passport.

Now the lawyer submitted the DS-260 (the electronic form) and didn't list his birth name1 on that form under "other names used".

We were expedited so we won't be dealing with this at the NVC. Can it be fixed at this point? Does it need to be fixed? Can my husband just print and bring a corrected copy of the form to his interview? I'm pretty worried about this.

Any advice or help is appreciated!

If the service center didnt ask about, i dont think it´s a problem.

But bring the papers to the interview and if they ask you got it, if not, no big deal.
