1st Daughter born 2013 (no CRBA)

2nd Daughter born 2015 (no CRBA)

Visa process 2015

I-130 sent: July 14th (delivered July 17th by DHL)

Checks Cashed: July 22nd

NOA1 received: August 5th via mail - California Service Center

NOA2 received: August 18th via email

NVC Received Package: September 4th.

Got NVC Case Number over the Phone: September 21st.

Paid AoS Bill / Send DS261: September 21st.

Paid IV Bill: October 23rd.

Submitted DS-260: October 30th.

Sent AoS and IV Packages: November 10th.

Received Checklist: December 3rd.

New Scan Date: December 4th.

Case Complete: December 31 (they said the cases were completed since Dec. 17th but something was missing in one of them)

Medical Examination: February 2nd.

Interview Date: February 29th

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just in the process of preparing the paperwork for our interview on January 11th in Montreal.

Have thought about what to bring since all our documents were sent by email, but decided it would be best to bring everything so there are no delays for missing information.

Just need to figure out the best way to organize the papers so we are not fumbling when asked for something.

Wishing everyone a Wonderful 2016.

As far as what we had to turn in to the Consulate, we ordered our forms in the order they had them in the P4 letter. That's the way they asked for them when we were standing in front of the first clerk, and it worked out well.

For the backup data, we organized our papers in the order of questions on the forms...i.e. For all the beneficiary info - we followed the questions on the DS-260. For all the AOS questions, we followed the order of the I-864. We felt we had lived with those forms for SOOOOOO long that we knew them pretty well! Of course, they asked for none of it. But we had it - JUST IN CASE!

We had the P4 info in a plastic sleeve, with paper clips to hold each section together, then a big clip so the whole pile wouldn't fall apart.

We had the backup data in a plastic expandable folder.

Hi. We were just approved the day before yesterday for an expedite. I'm trying to get as much done as quickly as possible to prepare my husband for his interview in Amsterdam. One thing I don't know anything about is the "military record" that the Amsterdam guide says to bring to the interview "if applicable". My husband (like all at the time) served in the military for a year when he was a teenager. It was about 36 years ago. Does he need this document? Where do we get it?

Unfortunately yes. It doesn't always take that long (see my timeline in my signature), but as many of the folks currently in the NVC stage will tell you, it's generally taking beyond the 30 days right now ☹️
