So my fiancé received his packet with all the info that we need to finish this process. It states that the petition expires in Jan does this mean the interview has to be scheduled at a date before than or will it be possible for me to schedule it later than January just as long as I schedule it before? Another question I have is how do I schedule the interview? I am guessing this is new procedure as opposed to it being scheduled for you. I have already filled out the ds160. I am waiting to schedule interview till I have the fee. Does everything like the medical exam have to be done before Jan as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So after you do the Ds-160, you create a profile at Ustraveldocs.com and then it'll tell you that you have to pay the fee, then once thats paid it'll be entered in the profile as paid and it will open up a second part to the profile which is to set up where you want to pick up your passport and what is the next available date for an interview. The medical exam is supposed to be like 2 weeks or 10 days before the actual interview depending on the embassy your going to interview at. But yes if the petition expires in Jan you must get through the visa process before it expires or ask for an extension of petition. Your fiance has to interview before the petition expires. Be mindful that consulate fill up quick and so try and schedule as early as possible

Call the US Embassy in Jamaica (your fiance can do it) and ask for an extension. Some embassy extend it automatically but I don;t know with Jamaica.

What do you mean by "all this done"? Are you postponing due to paperwork collection? If this is the case most of the documents your fiancé needs can be expedited for an additional fee. Also, when scheduling the medical the hospital asks for your interview date and they determine the date of the medical based on that information. Good luck to you on your journey!
