Field Office questions

I didn't see a forum for field offices so I hope this is okay to post here. I just have a few general questions about field office processing if anyone can help.

Our I-130 was sent to the local field office for interview. I had my interview (finally!) on October 1st. They said they have 30 days to make a decision but usually its faster than that. So I'm hoping for a (positive) answer within the next two weeks.

Question 1: My USCIS case status has never updated since January when it showed that the case was transferred from TSC (where it was received on 12-16-14) to NBC. I discovered at the interview that it never went to NBC - it went straight to the field office. I guess there's no letter for that. So I am wondering - will the case status ever update since it was processed locally or will it forever show that it was transferred to NBC on 1-27-15?

Question 2: Is the process of sending it to NVC from the field office the same as from a service center? If we get an approval should we still expect it to arrive at NVC within a couple of weeks (or less)? And from there will it process as it if came from a service center?

I have read all the guides here and am preparing for NVC, just hoping it will be the same for us as it is for those who went through service centers! If anyone knows anything I might do differently, please advise. It will be appreciated.
