Right. So my fiance got a letter from the US Embassy in London on September 14 stating that our approved petition has been received, so I am now getting my Form I-134 together to send to him for his interview. My question is: Do they need bank statements and check stubs or will the statement from my employer be sufficient enough?

If you fall above the 125% poverty line then you only need 1040s, W2s, Letter of Employment, Year-to-Date Paystub. You can also send IRS Tax Transcripts instead or in combination with the 1040s/W2s.

I fall just below it with my income and I have been on leave for a few months as I have just had a baby and therefore not making any income at this time. I am also using my dad as a joint sponsor. What will I need for my part in the supporting evidence if I fall below the poverty line? My dad is above it so we're good there.

London accepts 100% with the I-134 for a K-1 visa. You will need to meet the 125% later for AOS and the I-864.

London also only needs one sponsor. If using a co-sponsor, you only need to supply the co-sponsor's I-134 and proof of income. If you meet the requirement, then you will just need yours. You do not need bank statements. London doesn't require that you prove the income in several different ways, just one or two will do(taxes and letter from employer).

I have my interview tomorrow, and my fiance has given me his pay stubs, his letter of employment, his work contract and also gave me his tax returns. However, his tax returns aren't that strong, but still - it's btter to haveb too much than not enough.

Best of luck!! :)

This. What Kay said exactly. Prepare yours and see if they will accept. If not, pull out Dad's if interviewer (second time called up) wants another sponsor.

Hi

We are using a co-sponsor which is my fiance dad's. Does it mean I only need his dad's i-134 and proofs of income? I have both of them i-134's and proofs but was wondering if his dad would be sufficient then.

I thought that regardless of having co-sponsor I still need all the proofs of income for my fiance because he is petitioner.

Could you please advise?

thanks a lot

just seem to stress a lot about the interview now! triple checking everything, making myself going crazy...

London has approved a number of people with nothing from the fiance and an I-134 from another sponsor. When you file for Adjustment of Status, the law is very clear that the spouse must provide an I-864 even with zero income. Some consulates maybe and VJ K1 forum lore for sure carry that concept over to the I-134, but it isn't actually written in law or required for London. They simply want to know the beneficiary won't become a public charge so proving a fiance has no money won't really accomplish much. The I-134 isn't even binding.
