K1 Visa received with Annotation: MED: Class B

Hi everyone!

My fiancee passed her medical the first time she took it (went right to Immunizations on day 2) but her visa has an annotation "Med: Class B". She does have asthma and mentioned it during her medical.

1) Could her asthma be the reason she has this "Class B" annotation?

2) I assume this isn't for Latent or Active TB since she passed her medical and the annotation does NOT say "Med: Class B (TB)", is this assumption correct?

3) Will the Med: Class B annotation cause any problems at the Los Angeles POE?

Thanks in advance!

I am not equip to answer your concerns. If it were me, I would be on the phone, or if she is able to return to SLEC and ask those questions and more. But before you do so, you should do a little research. I found the CDC where it is outlined, the condition you are referring to.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'll have her call or even go to SLEC to try to find out why she got the Class B annotation.

I think your doing the right thing. There are no firm answers that I can find. Most of the treads I followed fell dead with no response from the OP of what it meant for them in the end. If it is not too personal, can you enlighten us with what you find.

Thanks and good luck.

So yesterday after her CFO seminar, my fiancee went over to St. Lukes to find out why she was given the "Med: Class B" annotation on her visa, but they said they could not disclose her medical results to her (really St. Lukes?!...she doesn't have a right to know the results of her own medical!?!). Anyways they said the US Embassy would not have issued her visa if she still needed to do complete something and sent her on her way.

I guess we'll try asking the Immigration Officer at the Los Angeles POE for a copy of her medical report to see why she got the Class B annotation.

I would say that SLEC is following the USEM protocol and their hands are tied. Like they said, if there was something amiss here they certainly would have done some extra testing or advise you to follow-up with the family doctor. So, my opinion is that there isn't much here to be concerned but having said that, I am sure you would like to know. So, keep pursuing till you are satisfied with the results.

Again, let us know what takes place with her interview any updates to the med b.
