Brazil Police Certificates: Certidão de Vida Privada (RJ)

Hi! I have been reading on here for some time, but am a new member.

We are getting ready for my husband's interview in Rio de Janeiro. Because he lived in Rio he will need a Certidão de Vida Privada. This is different than the other federal and state police reports we got.

Does anyone have experience with this form and how to get it? We live in another state (& have lived here for almost 7 years) in Brazil and cannot go to Rio to get it personally, and it looks like it is not available online.

He lived in Rio over 25 years ago, but he was over 16 at the time.

Can someone who has experience with the Rio form please help??

Certificate of Criminal Background

Emitir atestado basicamente contendo as mesmas informações da Certidão de Vida Privada. Issue certificate essentially containing the same information of Private Life Certificate. Neste caso, pode ser solicitada somente pela Justiça, Polícia ou pelo próprio Cidadão. This case can be requested only by the courts, the police or citizen himself.

Adil & Jeanne, I saw this on the IIFP site, but know that there are people on here who have gotten this form without having to request it personally. Also, my husband's RG is from Minas, so I cannot get the ''atestado'' online because it requires an RG from Rio de Janeiro.
