my brother is a USC and about to meet his fiancee in the philippines. does he need to pay taxes in the airport upon arrival or departure and how much?

I was just in Manila they did away with the Terminal fee { tax}

Payment of taxes upon departure if it was not included in his return ticket.

Terminal/Airport Fee: 750 Php (currently) for Manila. Airports that he departs from to arrive and then depart Manila are charged separately on departure from those locations.

So if he travels from Cebu then to Manila he will have two terminal/airport fees. Cebu maybe different then what Manila charges. Check with the airport for fees.

The Philippine Travel Tax is PHP1,620.00 (approximately $35.00) and only for Filipinos immigrating from the country will pay, other foreign citizens do not.

All passengers departing from the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) are expected to pay the Airport Terminal Fee of PHP750.00 (approximately $17.00). No one is exempt from paying the Airport Terminal Fee.

Manila has no Terminal fee Just went through I was surprised they did away with it.

Actually, the fee was not done away with. But as of February tickets, it is included in the price of international tickets.

Never was an arrival terminal fee to the best of my limited knowledge. Always was a departure terminal fee which is now included on most if not all international tickets, but possibly not on domestic tickets. But I'm not sure about that yet. I will know more about that this coming Sunday: MNL-PPS leg.

No arrival fees. Just be aware with the TAXI

Departure, there is a terminal fee of P750, but I believe that is now included in the airfare.

Taxi lol yes they are very aggressive and will hike the price up 3 fold if you are not knowledgable about fares. Forget the meter most wont turn it on safe travels

NAIA is as safe as any other area. Like always just be aware of your surroundings.

With SO MANY people there are 2 things that could happen:

1. Nothing because there are so many people there difficult to get away with a crime.

2. Incident because there are so many people there, lots of targets to choose from.
