You were trying to talk sense into people who believe Black people are third world citizens and should be less. You would get better results talking to a brick wall.

These are the same people outraged by the radicals throwing parties for killing U.S. soldiers in Iraq while they agree it is okay to kill U.S. citizens on U.S. soil and they think a national holiday should be created for it.

I have been very clearly expressing my own personal opinion on the very specific case of Michael Brown and Officer Darren Wilson. There are good examples of police brutality and racist policing but in the specific case of Mr. Brown that broader issue is irrelevant and, in my opinion, the broader issue is harmed by continuing to try and make the shooting of Mr. Brown an example of the very real broader issues.

I think you and Venkman are quite often on the right side of these types of things but in this specific instance you're both quite wrong.

Here is some more information about this. It seems someone from the police union posted on facebook on the anniversary of the shooting suggesting that it should be commemorated as "Darren Wilson day". It was subsequently deleted.

It's also at odds with the police departments official stabce:

"The Columbia Police Department is a separate entity from CPOA and does not in any way condone the use of social media, or any other medium, to promote divisive messages in our community. The Columbia Police Department will not allow a statement such as this to hinder our constant efforts to open the lines of communication with all people in our community.

Pretty much sums it up imo.
