Canadian Medical Question - Required Vaccines?

Im in the Toronto area, Does anyone know if they will give the vaccines at the medical or do I need to do them elsewhere and bring records prior to the medical?

Im sure ive gotten these vaccines as a child since i was here from 2 years of age but where am I suppose to get the records if I cant find the original doctor?

Tetanus, mumps, rubella, measles, chickenpox

My medical is this week and my interview is in september, am I screwed?

What happens if I cant get them done before the medical? can I do them after?

I imagine if you can't get them done before the medical you'll have to make another appointment and pay the fee again.

Im searching up that k-1 holders arent required to have vaccines up until they file for AOS but its better to get them done before hand because its cheaper/easier.

Can anyone verify if this is still true?

You must get the vaccines in Canada they will not let you finish the medical with out them.

If you do not have the vaccines or results before your medical they will hold on to your report till you fax or bring them a copy of the records or new shots. They will not finish the medical without the vaccines.

Now depending on your age you might be able to call the Health Unit and have them look for your records. Schools also have the records but finding them may be hard if it's been awhile since you were in school.

Try to find them and get into your doctor or clinic to get titters. You might get lucky and find the records before your medical if not at least your titters will be started.

You can go get titters (blood test) done to see if you're missing any. Then get the ones you need. I don't know how long it takes to get the results back. You might be able to get it done before your interview, depending when it is.

You could just go in and get all the vaccines started but then you will need to finish the series in the US and that can be expensive.

No. The civil surgeon will review your vaccination records at the time of your medical examination to see whether you have proof of earlier vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases that are appropriate for your age category. It is important that you take any written vaccination documentation you may have to the civil surgeon when you have your immigration medical examination.

If you lack any vaccinations required for your age category, the civil surgeon will administer the vaccines as needed. In the alternative, you can also choose to obtain the required vaccines from your private healthcare provider. However, because only a civil surgeon is authorized to complete the vaccination assessment on the Form I-693, you must return to the civil surgeon with the proof that you have received the missing vaccines.

Since Dr. Lyndon doesn't do them you have to get them done beforehand.

You need the sealed envelope the Dr. issues in hand when you go for your POE so I doubt you can do it after. You need this proof to enter the US.

This is true for other Countries but not true for Canada. They will not release your medical till you have started all the vaccines or show proof that you have them. My youngest at the time needed one shot that I missed and we had to fax it to them before they would release the medicals.

It can be an expensive hassle to get them in the US and find a civil surgeon that won't overcharge you and/or ask you to get another medical you do not need.
