Arrival & flight transfer

No once he goes through preclearance it's considered a domestic flight. He will not need to do any more screening. He will not go through security or customs again (he definitely should not do the latter!!!) They will transfer his bags just like a normal domestic connection. He just needs enough time to get from his flight to the next one plus some time for delays if necessary.

If it's the airline's or airport's fault that he cannot catch his flight, then the airline he flew in on should compensate him by booking him the next flight for free.

you have the time flight arrives

after takes at least 20 minutes of that time at large airports for plane to taxi in

i am US citizes and took me over 3 hours to go thru Chicago changing from international flight to domestice

so, i am giving my husband almost 4 to go thru customs and immigration

pick up his luggage

pick up the new ticket for domestice flight and go back thru security

all of this is irrelevant as the fiance is going through preclearance. They are going through customs and immigration before ever boarding the plane in Aruba. The flight is then considered domestic.

Perfect, that is what we thought just wanted to confirm. Yes there's no problems between flights transfers as far as time. And thank you so much for your reply

No problem. As a Canadian, I have actually only travelled via pre-clearance or land. LOL

OP stated all the travel is on Delta. They will transfer his bag to the connecting flight. He will not need to re-check in as he will get all boarding passes needed before departing AUA.

Once he arrives in ATL, he will just need to go directly the departing gate.

Traveling from Aruba is different than most other countries since you are cleared of US Immigration and Customs before leaving Aruba.

I've never had any problems in Atlanta and have been through there a few times. Guess it will be even quicker what with the pre-clearance in Aruba. I wonder if it will be like a connecting flight within America in that case? Straight out of the gate and into the terminal?

It's exactly like a connecting flight within the US. I flew Southwest two months ago from Aruba through Houston. The connecting fight was literally two gates over. Right off the first plane on to the second. Had an hour layover so enough time for 2 beers at the bar and a restroom run with time to spare :)

Once it leaves the ground in AUA it is considered a domestic flight and it treated as such when it arrives on the US.

Thank you for all the replies. His flight is from Aruba with a connection in Atlanta Georgia to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. It's his luggage is all automatically transferred. It thank you for all the replies. His flight is from Aruba with a connection in Atlanta Georgia to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. It's his luggage is all automatically transferred. Therefore, from what I learned he only has to go through immigration in Aruba.

Even with a different airline this would often be unneeded. For domestic flights they give you the ticket for the next flight and transfer the luggage unless you're changing terminals and have to leave security. I have had to do what you've stated in LA however because I had to leave security to go to another terminal; it's a stupid layout for an airport. But I didn't need a new ticket, my first airline supplied all the tickets for the flights.

I went through ATL, it really depends on the day and how busy the airport is.

It went well for me with a 4h layover, however, some people before me were waiting for 2+ hours and missed their connecting flights or bus.

Hi, he does not have to recheck his luggage and he does not have to go get a new airline ticket or what he has a transfer ticket once he's with in the terminal of Atlanta. Therefore he does not have to go through any other checks or counters or any such thing. His layover is about two hours. He will be departing from Aruba and has already gone through immigration and customs.

What took long to me was the waiting at the entrance, where they check for the visa.
