I-130 for sister question

Hi! I just received the receipt for my sister's I-130. I went to the USCIS website to check the processing times, and it's showing that they are already processing the cases from June 2011 at the California Service Center (I'm a citizen and my sister is 24). Are they really processing these applications in four years now?

Thank you

Personally I think it will be longer than that but only time will tell.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hi,

The 4 years is the average time to approve the I-130 which is only the first part. After approval of the I-130, the case is sent to the NVC where your sister will have to wait for an available visa in the F4 category. The current wait is 13 years for a visa in your sister's category.

You can look at the current PD for your sister's category in the Visa Bulletin. The current PD is December 2002.

Best of luck.

The big question is what will the PD be in 2030?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

OP's signature shows Dominican Republic. Assuming sister is from the DR, the case falls under worldwide limits where the current F4 wait is about 13 years.

On my iPhone so I can't see signatures. Thanks for that info didn't think of it.
