Filled out DS-260 on July 9th.

Paperwork scanned in response to last checklist July 27th.

Called NVC today, no movement on either one. Apparently my DS260 has been flagged for a supervisor to revise, not sure if that is the official Supervisor Review that takes up to 42 days. Seeing people with similar scan dates get case complete, which only heightens my despair.

Sick to death of this process. I had no idea what immigrants to the US go through when they follow all the rules.

Is there any way to get this process moving any faster? This is ridiculous. Should I start asking to talk to a supervisor when I call the NVC?

Welcome to the thread Bogota, I think the only other step you can take if you haven't already is get your Senator or Congress person involved and if you can make an appointment or just walk in and talk to them. They will want you to sign a paper so they can contact NVC etc on your behalf. Not sure if it will help or not but it's worth a try. Try not to make sense of how this works and people with scan dates after you wit case completes or it will drive you mad. Nothing in immigration makes sense nothing. So just try your best to get through this and look at this one week at a time. It's not easy and many of us failed at trying but trying is the key.

When you get a Supervisor make sure to write her/his name down so you can ask for them later you will be surprised at home much we forget when we are going through this nightmare.

If you aren't sure about the supervisor for the DS-260 call them again and ask if they say it has been sent to supervisor ask the supervisor's name and what their hours of work are they have two shifts.

Please keep us updated and I for one will be praying you get your CC and interview very soon. (L) (L)

Realized something recently.. hate to say this, but with all the NVC and embassy delays in scheduling CR-1 interviews, it's no wonder many try coming in every other way.. on B2 or F1 or H1 visas.. and AOSing.

The more we as USCs do something the right and legal way, others get away bending the rules (without penalty).. grrrh!!!

Don't feel bad it's true and we have all thought it I think, this process just isn't fair or just. :((L) (L)

Throughout the whole process I was so tempted to come over on the VWP and just stay. I could have done that last August when I visited for a couple of weeks. but I chickened out and decided to go home and wait it out. I didn't even care about the money already spent, I just wanted to make the move! I'm terrible with taking risks and facing the unknown though :(. Besides which, I wanted to save up some money from my old job, and that really came in handy since I haven't found work yet.

Imagine if AOSing was forbidden, though. All those people who would have adjusted status would be in the queue for NVC and the embassy too, so perhaps in a way they did us a favour?

Ketsubannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn OMG so very happy to see you OMG how are you are you happy (job or not)? Been thinking about you lately wondering how your doing. I'm just so happy to see you post and as always have something wonderful to add. God bless you my sweet friends. :) WOOOOO HOOOOO (L) (L) (L) (L) (L) (L) (L) (L)

are we eligible for b2 if cr1 is getting prolonged?

I don't know how the B-2 works but I do know of someone from the UK that received one during their CR-1/RI-1 process and he was given the Visa to visit, but was refused entrance to the US at the airport. So you might get the Visa doesn't mean your going to get to hug your loved one at the end. Sad but so true :(. Hope this helped you in some way. (F)

Hello :) thank you for your kind words. I don't have a job yet. I was looking at the beginning of the year, but quickly figured out that not having a car was hindering me a lot, so I had my husband teach me how to drive and I got my license back in June. I got my own car a couple of weeks ago, so I'm looking for work again and so far, no luck but there are a lot of jobs going so hopefully one of them will get back to me. The problem is I can't stand up for long periods of time without suffering with crippling back pain, so it rules out some jobs that I could probably get quite easily, like working in Walmart.

How have you been doing? I have read some of the support threads, and I'm guessing you're still waiting for USCIS to send the NOIR to you.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

That really sucks, I visited the US on the Visa Waiver Program during the CR-1 process and I had this really nice bubbly immigration officer about my age who was super interested about long distance relationships, and thought what we were doing was really cool. That's the only time I've seen an IO act like a human :D

I thank you so much for your love and support and for thinking of my family at a time when you are still dealing with everything you have dealt. Many people believe after immigration life gets easier. I can say thats not always the case. My spouse has had the hardest time adjusting to living here. Given what I know now Solenta I would rather give someone like you a chance to have your family together and to be happy. Only God knows why things are the way they are and I pray that God will move and give a miracle to your family by granting your husband a visa. I pray you will find comfort in the those who love and care about you the most until that time comes. I really do ask God to bless you due to the many ways you have been here to encourage and support others who come and go on this thread.

It's not been easy for me to adjust to the US either. Considering the UK and US can be similar in a lot of ways and I'm having trouble, I imagine your spouse is having an even harder time, though truth be told I don't know what Nigeria is like. I think it helps to go outside, even if they really don't want to. Since I'm unemployed right now, I spend a lot of my time indoors and I find the longer I stay in, the more reclusive I feel and it becomes harder to go out again. I'm really quiet in real life and it can be a bit scary for me when all these friendly American people (including my husband's relatives) start talking to me and I just go into some weird quiet mode and they can't understand what I say. One of my friends back home wants to visit and I don't know how I'll cope having to show them around like I'm some kind of US expert XD

I think the best you can do for your spouse is encourage them to go out and explore. My husband does this and I resist a lot, but sometimes I will go out and usually it goes without a hitch. I end up wondering what I was so worried about. I drove 25 miles down to another city for a job opportunity about a week ago and it was quite liberating to drive on the freeway without causing an accident :P

Anyway, I hope your spouse adjusts in due time so you can continue with your lives and most importantly be happy together.

So sorry my fault, I meant job or not and yes you need a car here unless maybe your living in New York then you can get away with it if you don't mind the cockroaches crawling on you on the subway.

Congratulations on getting your license and learning to drive must have been fun. OMG I love to drive can do it day and night I should have been a taxi driver or bus hahaaa would have been fun I think.

I think once your relax about getting a job it will just fall in your lap. I think when we worry to much about things it seems to make it last for ever. Just my two cent worth hahahaa.

I'm praying we get a reaffirm not NOIR because it can be one or the other if not mistaken. God willing with prayer we will get our reaffirm. My husband did nothing wrong and this is just a travesty.

I've been doing good, planning my next trip to see my husband and preparing in case I have to go before our next get together :). I need to sell my car also I'm sure someone will love it and take care of it like I did. Just uses to much premium gasoline and it's just sitting there. So I should be busy seeing if I can get it started. Other than that we are doing great and thank God for Skype/Viber, God bless those who make it possible. :D(L) (L)

That really sucks, I visited the US on the Visa Waiver Program during the CR-1 process and I had this really nice bubbly immigration officer about my age who was super interested about long distance relationships, and thought what we were doing was really cool. That's the only time I've seen an IO act like a human :D

Yeah it sucks you pay for the flight because they give you your Visa and you can't even hug your loved one in person you just get sent back on your own dime. What a miserable thing to do to anyone.

You got the one person who fell through the crack, I think they give A hole tests before they hire. :D(L)

Sorry it hasn't been easy but tell us in what way please, there must be more reasons and it would help many of us for when (God willing) our spouses come to (heart beats faster) live with us we can try to make it better? Be honest now is it the people, food, weather all of it? Anyone else please post would help us all out so much. Not being with family you have known all your life can't help either. (L) (L)

Haven't popped in for a bit, but thought I'd just check in!

For those of you who are waiting for approval, and it seems like the journey will never end, have faith.....it will...eventually

It took us 25 months from submitting the first paperwork to having immigration visa in hand!

I still have some loose ends to tie up here, but plan to move and be with my husband by the end of September at the latest! My last day of work is this Monday, so that will give me a few weeks to sell my stuff and rent out my condo (tried selling, but the market is soft).

Hope to have an exact travel date in the next couple of weeks.!!!

Wishing you all a speedy journey so you can be with your loved ones permanently!

SuzieQ, OMG so happy to hear from you I was wondering if you were home with your husband yet or not. So happy and thrilled you came to check on us but to let us know what's going on in your life.

Great idea to rent your condo, you can sell it when things get better and God willing you can get more for it than you paid. WOW end of September at the latest how wonderful, hope there are no more nightmares from this long and arduous journey. Much love and hugs to you my sweet friend. :D(L) Thank you so much for the good wishes much appreciated by all, :)
