Hi everyone! Im new here!

My application was delivered to USCIS on 8/1 and we received our NOA1 on 8/4. It was sent to California Service Center.

I'm very anxious... We got married in Brazil in 2013 and one month later we moved to Belgium so we could live together (we were living apart, I was in Brazil and he was in US), his company agreed on letting him work in Europe... Anyway, 2 months ago he got a promotion BUT it requires him to move back to USA... This should be great news, right?

But for me this is a nightmare, I was denied the tourist visa twice, I believe they denied it because the first time I said that I knew him and in the second time because we were already married, what they told me is that I didn't have strong ties to Brazil nor Belgium. This was very traumatic, specially in Belgium, the guy doing the interview was kinda rude saying that my english was "so so".

Besides that we already had two problems, first time we sent the application package to the wrong address and now we had to request the CSC to correct my last name, it was abbreviated (I have a long one :( ). I don't even know if it is a real problem but for sure will delay a little bit our process.

My husband should start working on his new position next January/ February... I'm not sure if we will make it :o , and if we don't it will be my fault, this is like the job of his dreams... I feel very, very bad...

Well that's it, I wish the best for you all, hopefully it will be fast and smooth.

I can relate, except I'm the husband in this situation. I moved to brasil to live with my then fiance for a year before finally getting married....I had to come back to the USA one month after our marriage and i havent been able to visit since january because i needed to get my life together here. Finally submitted all the paperwork and im visiting her in november.

" I'm not sure if we will make it" It's difficult but you WILL make it. its hard work but it is possible. Get yourselves some iphones and facetime on the go, text all day etx. Its not as good as being there but itll suffice until we can live together again. If its really his dream job, you guys will be in a nice situation once the visa is issued

good luck.

@fngrdrzvc your husband should look into getting it expedited, as having a new job/job transfer is one of the reasons expedites are granted.

Here's an example of someone who got it:

Be sure to mention:

  • USCIS Policy Memo PM-602-0043.1- to demonstrate that my request can be granted as an exceptional circumstance- Chapter21.12 © (7)"

Norway2Cali thanks so much, we didn't know about it! We will e-mail the Belgium embassy, hopefully we will be able to cancel our process in California and do it here!

You should ask them, but I don't think it's necessary to cancel the other application. Good luck!
