Im all ready to go with my k1 visa im four thousand short of the 125% poverty level how much would my cosponsor need to make to be my cosponsor do they need to make enough to cover my entire family of just the amount im short?

They would need enough to cover their household size plus the person you're petitioning.

Might want to be careful about calling your fiance(e) a spouse when you are interviewing for a K-1 visa.

Your cosponsor's household will be considered 2, your cosponsor and your FIANCE, UNLESS either your fiance is coming with children or the cosponsor has dependents that live with them that they support. For each person they have to financially support, the number goes up.

So as long as your cosponsor has no one that's financially dependant on them, then it'll just be 19912$ a year, a household of 2.

I'm in the same situation. I have a daughter and it's just us I support myself and her, since my mother is cosponsoring my fiance they only people she will be financially supporting will be herself and my fiance

For K1 Visa you only need to be at 100%...125% is for immigrant visa like spouse or parents. K1 is 100% and k3 is 125%. Found this out 2 days ago. good luck

Depends on the consulate. Some want 125

I'd say most look at 125%. Each CO is allowed to use his or her own discretion, mainly because they expect you to immigrate after you get married and you'll need to meet the 125% for AOS.

So don't plan on having 100% be enough. Plan on having someone that can do 125% if you're using a cosponsor, you don't want to risk that on a "well hopefully this CO is okay with 100%!"

the initial requirement is only at 100 percent. when you adjust status that is when you have to show 125 percent. ask for a raise or look for a second job. not trying to be funny here but once you are married and want to adjust status you will need to be able to prove 125 percent. I am uncertain if at that point you can ask for a sponsor but that might be available for you to look into. good luck. at this point of the game I think your fine.

You can have sponsors for AOS. They're just called Joint Sponsors instead of Cosponsors.
