Hi!! Glad to meet someone who went through the process with the Guatemalan embassy. Thank you for sharing your with me. I had to fight for my case complete, and fight for my choice of agent form to be completed. I'm just worried I'm gonna have to fight for my interview date as well. LOL.

Called them to send me all the paperwork they are very slow one thing I am very sure about. Good Luck on your visa Journey!! :joy:

Hi,

Yeah i sent them an email and my paperwork is still at the mercy of NVC. I filed for a CR1, which now is a IR1 because of all the waiting. K1's can automatically schedule appointments. Unfortunately I can't, otherwise i screw myself over...(possible longer waits at the NVC). Thanks for the advice :)

For what I have seen in trends in this site and many others its about two months after they assign you an interview date. Not sure though. Let us know if this is the trend for real.

First of all let me say I'm very frustrated with the way this Embassy/Consulate works.

They have had our case since September 25th and have yet to contact us about setting up an interview. Seeing how they were taking forever we went ahead and paid the visa fees and scheduled the interview ourselves. Got a hold of them to check if this is OK and was told to wait until they finally decide to send us instructions (which we already have) and proceeded to cancel our appointment for a K1 visa interview. As of now we are at their mercy and the interview dates between now and the end of the year are pretty much non-existent.

Best of luck to all you who are also dealing with this embassy. My suggestion would be to make sure you contact them ASAP after they receive your case and bug them to send you the information on how to set up your interview.

As far as what documents you need for the interview this is how I set up mine:

• Beneficiary's criminal records
• DS-160 Confirmation page

• Visa fee receipt for $265 (In back pocket of the notebook)
• Two passport style photos
• Petitioner - Updated letter of intent
• Beneficiary - Updated letter of intent

• I-134 Form
• Letter confirming Petitioner’s pay and position on company letterhead
• Petitioner’s Year-To-Date Paystub: 09/13/2015
• Petitioner’s Tax Transcripts 2014, 2013, 2012
• Copy of Tax Returns (1040, W-2) 2014, 2013, 2012

Section III: Evidence of Ongoing Relationship
• Petitioner's boarding passes from visit September 15-29, 2014
• Petitioner's boarding passes from visit March 26 - April 8, 2015

Hello!!!

I don't know if anyone from Guatemala is still roaming around here. But if anyone knows I would appreciate it.

When reading the requirements under the financial support.

I do not see any mention of a letter from employer, is that needed?

And do they accept co sponsors with no problem?

Yes, you can use co sponsor. More is better regarding proofs and evidence. You can message them directly. Use the live support online at the bottom of this page. They were actually very helpful to us.

Also, I had messaged them in June of 2015 that the packet lists the wrong fee. Just make sure when you get your case number from NVC and go online to pay the fee, you pay the correct amount. We filed the ds-160 as soon as we got the case number. We also paid the fees from my American Credit card and just printed out the receipt. Is the beneficiary male or female ?
