My fiancé put his sealed envelop in his luggage and it got shipped to NY. What's gonna happen once he reaches NY? He won't have it on him it's going to be in his luggage. Someone help me ! Has this happened to anyone before?

I think it's not going to be a big issue, he should talk to an agent or officer in the waiting area, they will call the flight company's supervisor, the supervisor will be able to go and pick up his bag to bring it to him. I had a small issue when I arrived to NY and they called a flight attendant supervisor (I was with Qatar airways) to help me out. Don't worry. Even if it's a big mistake actually, because they explain clearly at the embassy that we have to keep the papers with us, and it's not safe to put this kind of stuff in the luggage anyway. Hopefully he won't loose his luggage. Otherwise he will be fine ;)

Not a recommendation for Gods sakes but more than one person on here has been allowed in without the package presented. They were paroled into the US and given a timeframe to work on compiling the documents again or something similar.

Again, not saying OP should take this chance. At least one person was robbed of the package either at the airport or on the way to the airport. I think in once instance the embassy actually called immigration at POE on behalf of that person.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
