No, I didn't contact any representatives as someone well said that there is nothing they can even do about it. It was only a waiting game, a very stressful waiting game. It might have helped that I contact USCIS and asked them to get me an update. 30 days after my call I received a letter that didn't give me more information but I guess pressure the office to hurry up.

Regarding the information they are requesting, my lawyers did not want to help me unless they charge me another arm and leg. So I call USCIS and they told me I need the copies so they can keep them and give me whatever original they have. I'm just going to bring copies as I cannot get everything certified before the 27th.

The letter said that you need to bring your medical exam unless already presented. My though is that they only need it one time, when you present your paperwork, to prove you are healthy.

So how did interview go?

Congrats, glad to hear that! My NOA1 date is December 9, so 3 weeks after yours, so hopefully I'll hear something in the middle of October then. Was there any issue with your medical exam? Since it's been over a year sine the medical, I've been afraid they'll make me take a new one. Not that I wouldn't pass it, but they can be quite expensive.

Have you received your interview date or still waiting?

It went well, I got it approved. I am waiting for it in the mail. They did not make many questions other than the typical ones (i.e. Did you ever receive military training, etc.). My stupid lawyer who presented the paperwork did not file the original court decision for a DUI I had in Iowa in 2013 and the interviewer did not like that I only had standard copies of the court resolution. So she made us wait in the waiting room while she talked to her supervisor. Then she came out and said that with the copies was enough and that the green card was approved.

She also mentioned that if the process extends longer than a year from when you had your medical exam paperwork presented, and because the medical exam expires in a year, then you need to do the medical exam again. Thank god I got it approved before.

Hi Bert,

Are you still waiting for your interview? I do not see any update on your timeline :(

Hi! Sorry for missing your earlier messages. I'm actually scheduled to interview December 23rd (had to postpone in November because I was out of the country). Totally forgot to add the date to my timeline. Will update it right away :)

But yeah, considering my original date was in November, 11 months seems to be the window right now... hope you'll hear something soon!

Congrats -- green card approval will be an awesome gift for Christmas! :joy: I kind of started worrying about you since I did not see any updates and noticed interviews for people with later NOA dates. Now I understand what was the delay about.

Good luck with the December 23rd interview and make sure you share your good news with us.

Denver, CO seems to work at the same pace as New York's Queens office. I waited exactly 9 months for my interview date. Call the 1-800 number and ask to speak to the higher level of customer service and explain that you believe your case might be outside the processing time. Then the officer will tell you if you should wait or he/she will send a request to your local office to respond to you within 2 weeks.

I did that and luckily, I got an interview date in 2 weeks from the call.

Hi all,

2,5 weeks after my interview I finally got an update on the USCIS case status page: Approved!

I was getting worried and had just sent renewal paperwork for my EAD with request to expedite it, haha.. But looks like they can ignore that. Hopefully my green card will be here soon.

OlenkaKyiv, I think you'll hear something from them soon, in the next few weeks!

Congratulations on approval. I am glad to hear you do not need to stress out about getting updated EAD card anymore.

One guy from Denver with 04/10 NOA got interview. I have already submitted a an "outside of processing time" request. My NOA is April 1, so I really really hope, we will get that interview soon.

I assume I will not see you here from now, so good luck. And do not forget to update your timeline in case you did not do so yet. :joy:

Good luck to those three VJ members that have AOS interview in Denver today. Please share your interview experiences.

------

I-130 (as part of IR-5 process) - USCIS (Nebraska Service Center)

06/09/14 - sent I-130

06/14/14 - NOA 1

11/14/14 - NOA 2 (5 months)

AOS (Local Office: Denver)

03/24/15 - AOS packet sent via USPS Priority Mail (I-485, I-765 & I-131 w/ approved I-130)

03/26/15 - package delivered according to USPS website

04/01/15 - email notifying the AOS package has been received

04/02/15 - an AOS fee withdrawn from a bank account

04/09/15 - received hard copies of all three NOAs (NOAs dated 04/01/15)

04/28/15 - Biometrics

05/08/15 - online status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

05/18/15 - online status changed to I-765 approved-wait the card in the mail (no change for I-131) (80 days)

05/19/15 - received EAD/AP in the mail

05/28/15 - online status changed to "As of June 28, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." This is the second time of such change since 05/08/15.

07/05/15 - online status changed to "As of July 5, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." How many times are they going to update that status, I wonder?

12/18/15 - still waiting!!! For almost 9 months now (261 days from AOS NOA, 234 days from Biometrics).

01/14/16 - submitted "out-of-normal processing time" inquiry and called USCIS that stated the case is still at NBC and "inquiry" should answer why there is such delay.

01/15/16 - 294 days since the AOS was received by the USCIS; 262 days from the biometrics.

01/28/16 - [day 309] received response to case status inquiry (processed on 01/23/15) - "your case is waiting to be scheduled for interview," so wait another 90 days [sigh].

02/21/16 - [day 332] interview scheduled for 03/24/16 [363 days from the receipt of petition].

02/24/16 - [day 363] AOS interview. Approval on the spot.
