thanks a lot! I have one more questions, about pictures.. how many passport photograph u need to send in the package? I see they required 2.. but then the in the EAD and AP instruction I read they want two more for each applications, plus a copy of ur passport for the AP... is that correct?

Even though you are sending in all the forms together treat them as separate, because they are. You need copies of everything for each one independently whether it's photos, birth cert,....whatever.

Hello! I hope somebody can help me figure it out this...

Im from Italy and got in the USA with a K1 visa, we got married and all, and now we are putting together all the papers in order to proceed with my AOS ( adjustement of Status).

I am aware this process might take a long time, up to years too sometimes, so I was wondering this: next year we will have a bigger wedding in the USA, so my family can attend it, and after we would like to go for 1 week in Mexico.

Do I need to ask any kind of permission to leave the USA and re-enter? if so, which one? I read u can file a paper called "advance of parole" but that is for "urgent humanitarian reason,or personal family emergency, but I believe an honeymoon trip is not part of it.

I read if u don't file any document they might deny ur re-enter in the United States, and u have to apply for another visa ( I definitely don't want this happens!!!)

Yeah dont ever leave the USA withot the AP document (it is a card actually). My spouse just used it to come back to the US from Canada. The USCIS actually sends you an official document entitled I-797C. It is the approval of the AP BUT they also send you the Employment Visa card with your picture and at the bottom it says 'also valid for AP I-515 or something like that.

He sent into secondary but it was quick (as quck as these people get) and they stamped the passport 'Approved for Parole' Valid for On Year.

So of course I asked what that means...they said just show the passport to the CPB and the Card and it will be much faster and without secondary inspections.

You need to file a I-131advance parole application and a I-765 work authorization application together with your I-485 AOS application,its free, and in roughly 90 days you will receive a "combo card", which allows you to work AND travel while waiting for AOS approval.

The way re-entries using AP at the Canadian border are handled may be different but we just want to report that we have re-entered the US 3 times at Chicago/O`hare and have had to go to secondary each time, one time lasting close to 2 hours, if entering thru a busy airport this must be considered if you have a connecting flight. With the green card there is no more secondary inspection normally.

To answer your question, you need 2 photos for the EAD, 2 for the AP and 2 for the i485.

All 3 applications require a copy of your passport biographical info page. The AP also requests "A copy of any document issued to you by USCIS showing your present status, if any, in the United States", so we included a copy of my husband's passport entry stamp to the US.

Btw, we took a vacation to Europe while my husband had Advance Parole and had no problems at all using it. Have a good trip!
