also hired a poor lawyer and since I worked my way thru college by working for an attorney, I am governed in as certified paralegal so I finally took over my case and did my own affidavits and appeal / got help from Senator Corker's office and I am forever grateful to Kellie and Sophy in that facility

Met my husband 10/2008 on dating site (he was single /I was widowed after 20 year marriage)

9 months later I traveled to meet him in person and stayed the month of June 2009 with him and his family. Applied July 2009 for K1. Interview 11/2009 and denied. He was nervous and I said relax, answer all questions and smile. He was asked what does your family think of her and he smiled and said, “They love her.” CO said, “You smile, you lie, denied.”

Family heard this and said we love you, come back and marry, and they did all the planning and work for the marriage. Elhamdo lellah. I was in Morocco February and March for this.

Applied April for CR-1 spouse, and hired a lawyer. Returned to Morocco month of November for our honeymoon and while there received RFE (file to big to load). Lawyer called and I had to return home to do the biggest RFE the lawyer said he had ever seen. 25 POUNDS of paperwork when mailed. USCIS received it and sent our packet to NVC in 2 days. Went over for Ramadan and interview June 2011. He was denied as they said “Does she like to read?” He said “yes, but she doesn’t read books, she researches online for her mom who is writing books.”

Appealed this decision 3/2/2012 (writing my own appeal as lawyer was worthless) and received notice our marriage was valid and I should reapply 2/26/2013.

Application sent in March /priority date 4/3/2013.

Nothing was done in the receiving office Missouri till 10/2014 when they sent in to Nebraska for “FASTER PROCESSING” with an extra letter saying if you are not processed in 30 days send inquiry. I waited thru the holidays and sent in January. No one knew where the case was at it still had Missouri MSC as starting letters. Finally after extended waiting time was sent to NVC in April 2015. Did all the supporting documents but they kept telling me I wasn’t reporting my income right as they look only at adjusted gross and I have a huge amount of untaxable. Finally went out of town to Atlanta to a better attorney and he completed the paperwork the same way I had it but they accepted it. Interview in July and visa approved. July 24, 2015 visa in hand. Married now 5 years 5 months.

Wrote to:

Senator Bob Corker (they helped)

Senator Honorable Lamar Alexander

Representative Chuck Fleishman (lawyer contacted him and he said hire a lawyer)

US Senator Shelton Whtiehouse, (caseworker and field representative)

Rosemary Melville (USCIS Director of California field office)

Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State

David T Donahue (Deputy Assistant Secretary for Visa Services)

Thomas E. Perry, (Assistant Attorney General US Department of State)

Samuel L Kaplan (Ambassador to Morocco)

ACLU in Nashville

President Barack Obama

When someone that is here as they won visa lottery can go and marry and get visa for wife who does not speak any English, why do I have to prove where my husband studied English? When this man lives in rooming house with 4 other men, why do I have to prove I owned a house and add my husband’s name to the deed. For God’s sake I was born here

When my brother-in-law over 75 can bring in a wife 42 years younger than him, why did they have an issue with my marriage? I am nowhere near that age. And he had been divorced 4 times (suppose to be a red flag for immigration).

Anyway, anyone complaining of waiting a few months stop and count your blessings as no one will go thru what Adil and I had to.

Wow. What a long journey. I hat is off to you . Congratulations! It is finally over . Your story sure do give us hope. I have being waiting since Feb 11th when I first got my NOA1 and now over 5 months later no approval in hand yet but I am hopeful that this week I we hear some good news.

Boy, you are an inspiration for those whose determination is flagging.

The insanity and unfairness of our system defies belief. The president is rolling out the red carpet for people entering illegally, putting them on public services, and granting them amnesty. Yet others trying to do it legally like you are being put through hell.

Congratulations to a fellow visajourney member who has a similar story like mine. I see we have a few fellow members had similar journey. My journey is about 4 years K-1 first then CR-1. The main thing is we never gave up. Lot of people do. Few of us that never gave up our love for each other got tested and proved. Enjoy your life together. It's all worth it. Believe me I know. Ours long journey ended in Oct of 2013. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. The key is to never give up no matter what. The harder it is to come by the better battle tested it is.

Once again congratulations!

first, I thank you all for support

second, I, am disturbed by illegals getting the breaks, including free legal advise. I know they only want to better their life but be fair to the ones of us paying these fees and going legally thru the system. Everyone talks of immigration reform but if you check out the List of Current Senate Committees, you will see there is not one for Immigration (Homeland Security controls it) but no one is working on immigration reform. After going thru all this I am willing to help anyone who needs help that is going legally thru this system. I don't know it all. I made some mistakes but I found out where to look online. My husband was so patient thru all this and never said, I Give up.

If I may ask, when sending your documents to Morocco which service did you use?

How long did it take to get there and how much was the cost?

well that's good news wishing you the best on your next journey , patients is the key , instead of insisting that one place is a big fraud country . I think anywhere could be a fraud country just depends on the person.
