Hi

First of all i would like to thank every one in this great website,

i've been reading the great advice you guys provide for a while.

Now back to this bizarre situation

Last july i received the approval letter for the (i-601 and i-212) waivers,

it was straight forward,no RFE's and it only took 3 1/2 months to approve.

But with this, i also received a letter from the london Embassy asking in order

to process your visa, they needed additional evidence concerning my relationship

with my wife.(But i already brought this evidence with me to the interview, but was

never asked for it).Anyway...so i immediately sent them what they asked for back

in july. But for 1 year now i haven't heard anything, every month my lawyer contacts

the embassy and the message is always the same ....''still under review''.

I was guessing all this delay could be because of 'religion' but yesterday i read a case

from a Morrocan member who stated their k-visa was approved after 1 month?????

1) has anyone heard of a situation like this? i've read some cases here but the closest

i came to were cases of people being put on AP after receiving their instruction letter.

2) Does that mean when i receive the instruction letter, i will be put on AP for a further

year again?

3)why wasn't the evidence looked at back in the interview (fall,2013) (it would've taken like 20

minutes to look through, but now is taking longer than a year)

4)Can the embassy still deny the visa after approving the waivers?

5) Can anything be done to speed it up? (because it seems like nothing is being done, the case

is on a shelf somewhere in the embassy untouched) or is it ''it is what it is'' and i just have to wait.

anyway...i have a lot of questions, but these will be enough for now...it's just very frustrating

you just feel helpless.

Thanks you

Yes, they can still deny your visa. So, if I were you....I would have contacted my local senator's office, explain the situation and get answers that way. Bypass your lawyer.. He doesn't care if you get approved or not. My lawyer didn't do a dang thing so I found out on my own. AP is normal after you send in all docs from the instruction letter. For us it was only one afternoon. Then the visa was printed and they called my husband to come pick it up. Obviously London is different than Costa Rica. Im wondering why you let a year go by without contacting the senator...

Because he has a mighty fine lawyer who keeps stringing him along month after month. Doing his due diligence by sending an email to the embassy each month. His lawyer is smart, but not in the way OP needs him to be! :(

OP, I'd say ditch your lawyer pronto. Stop letting him drain you of money, the rest you can do on your own.

Better to call. They will email a release for you to sign. Since its a waiver...only the beneficiary can sign the release. The person the waiver is for. It can be scanned. My husband printed the email...signed it and scanned it back. I prefer the senator over the congressman. That's just me.

by the way, i'm not paying the lawyer. i was only paying during the waiver process.

I brought this idea (about contacting the senator) to my lawyer months ago,

but he said the embassy only allows one person to inquire ...

So is the senator based in the state capital?

Don't listen to the lawyer. Please just call the senator's office...explain what you need and go from there. It can all be done via phone and email. Make sure you give them both of your phone numbers and email addresses. Google the senator for your state. Pick one and call.

the embassy and the message is always the same ....''still under review''.

5) Can anything be done to speed it up? (because it seems like nothing is being done, the case

anyway...i have a lot of questions, but these will be enough for now...it's just very frustrating

you just feel helpless.

Thanks you

Cases may seem the same here but they are different for many reasons, many do not disclose

the full story or true story here, additional bans found, a field investigation raises questions to

be checked into....Reviews usually means there is a question, sometimes not from your end but a

difference in DOS & USCIS opinions which they never will disclose, or even issuing a 221G

that should have not been issued, but although there's an approval on very rare occasions

the visa can be denied...in the meantime reviews like AP has no timeline ,maybe your Congress-

person can garner a word more than your atty.
