Hi,

This regarding RN, Nursing, transcripts, B.S.Nursing, BSN

My wife needs to have her B.S. Nursing transcripts sent from St Jude College in Manila, Philippines to a transcript evaluation service (cgfns.org) here in the USA.

Then cgfns.org can do an evaluation of the classes and transcripts for the Minnesota State Board of Nursing so that the MN Board of Nursing can allow her to take the NCLEX exam, and then become a Registered Nurse.

  1. Does anyone know... how long takes St.Jude to send my transcripts in sealed envelope to the USA?
  2. Do you have any other thought about this? Are we doing this correctly, in your opinion?

Thank you!

Don and Grace

Yes you are doing it correctly. The only thing that I would be concerned about is sending the document through PhilPost as they are not the most reliable. Try calling the school and see if you can have the transcripts sent via FedEx. Make arrangements for payment either sending money to the school or paying directly to FedEx. Maybe call FedEx and inquire as to what they suggest.

The information in my opinion is too important to trust to Philpost.

BTW... I grew up in Golden Valley, MN.

From what I know, CGFNS is the one who will take care of everything.
It depends of the state. I'm not sure with MN. What kind of CGFNS are they asking in MN? There is a CVS, CES... etc.

With CES, Credential Evaluation Services, the CGFNS is the one who will contact the school and PRC to ask for whatever documents are needed. What service from CGFNS did you avail?

I applied for CES. They notified me after like 2 months that they already have my transcripts from my school.
They say the whole process takes about an average of 6 months.

My wife had her sister in 'Pinas go to my wife's nursing school and get my wife's sealed transcripts. Her sister then used FedEx to send the transcripts to CGFNS. It was quick.

Edit: this was for Vermont.

Have her or a family member go to her school and request information. CGNFS has the form she will hand to them with instructions.

Once school has transcripts have them put school seal on back of sealed envelope and arrange to have it sent to CGNFS via Fed Ex. I also suggest to pay for express service on the CES so it can be done quicker.

I would say your time frame would be about 1 to 2 months going Fed Ex, versus a very long time or never using Phil Post and not having someone go to her school and request directly.

Are they also asking for Verification of License from PRC? If so do the same routine......
