Hi there! I'm in a similar situation to you! The crazy thing is that the CEAC status said ready today! It wasn't even pulling anything yesterday and when I called NVC last night, they said that our file had been sent to Montreal yesterday. So I'm really rubbing my eyes that our file is already at the consulate?

I have our packet 3 ready to go.. Just wondering if you did send the packet 3 without receiving packet 3 and if you've heard anything back yet?

Thanks!!

We did move forward and sent the three documents mentioned here: http://photos.state....ket3-K1-MTL.pdf on Sunday night. By Monday we got our email to schedule our interview. It was very quick. I'm glad we went forward with it.

Good luck to you!!

You can go ahead and send packet 3 and yes, you can check off things that you don't actually have right now. They don't know you don't have it, but you HAVE to have it by your interview. At the moment it looks like October is the earlier for Vancouver and September is the earlier for Montreal, so you have roughly a month and a half to two months to get all the papers together.

You can not schedule anything until you have premission though, so you need to send packet 3 to them. They will e-mail you back with Packet 4 and the approval to schedule the interview.

Either way, myself and a few others recently did as it says to do in this: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

Others who have followed the above Packet 3 info have successfully gotten Packet 4 and scheduled their appointments.

This is unrelated but how do you get that timeline to show up on your responses??

I wrote it into my signature!

You can edit your signature by going to "My Settings" where your user name is on the top right. Then on the left click signature, and you can type it all in yourself!

As for me, We haven't heard back on ours, but we believe that we sent ours literally two days early and it got ignored. We're resending tomorrow!

Yes...that link is correct. I have found out some things that finally make sense. You will have to pay the 265 USD before picking out an interview date. The email they send you will say if you haven't yet paid, pay the day of the interview but you cannot schedule until you pay. Another VJ member said that they think it applies to the ones they schedule from the Consulate...those applicants would pay the day of the interview. Hope that helps.

We are very excited too! Good luck!

Okay so our case was marked as READY July 7th. We sent our packet on July 13th, then our case showed it's next update on the 15th and 16th, the nothing. After seeing a poster say that she had sent hers too early and they probably ignored it, resent hers after the next date the case updated and was responded to within hours, We went ahead and resent our Packet 3 yesterday at around 11am CST. We got the packet 4 email back at around 6pm last night!

So if yours changes to ready, wait until the NEXT date the status update changes too, that will be the date they logged your stuff in and THEN it's safe to send packet three.

Since I can't update, I'll just give a little over view.

Intransit - June 30th - July 6th
READY - July 7th
Sent 1st Packet 3 - July 13th
Case Status Updated - July 15th
Case Status Updated - July 16th
Sent 2nd Packet 3 (Resent) - July 23rd 11AM CST
Received Packet 4 - July 23rd 6pm CST

So make sure to wait until your case updates AGAIN, you should recieve packet 4 pretty quick if it's acttually in the system
