Yea even with an email it's so confusing so I can imagine without a thing how hard it must be.

Yea I thought I was fine too until I realize I couldn't schedule appointment in august. Then I called the number they gave on the usvisa-info website and lady told me it's the us embassy that has to give you your appointment. Then looking at forums seemed no one had to schedule an appointment on his own

Wow it sounds like you're really caught in between their old and new scheduling system :( I'm really not sure what to tell you! Other than getting a caseworker and.... yeah that's about it :(

Wondered if someone could give me some advice. We have received no notification from the Embassy that they have received our packet. The NVC sent it off the 8th of July. When should we call the Embassy to ask questions? Or how long should it take for my fiancé to receive packet 3?

I think that as soon as you see "Ready" on the CEAC website when you search your case number, it means the embassy received it... I think. As for how long it takes to receive packet 3, I have no idea!

clementparis, did you ever get this figured out? We are in the exact same situation as you. We received the same version of packet 3 in June, were told to schedule the interview and medical ourselves. Absolutely no mention of the DS2001. My fiancé already paid and scheduled his medical for August, but we've been unable to schedule the interview and the embassy has been completely unhelpful. Our petition expires in late August and we're getting desperate... :(

I highly recommend contacting a senator or congressman's office! We're in SC so we went through Lindsey Graham and his caseworker was incredible. They are able to contact the embassies for you and get a response within hours, and well.... you know that doesn't happen if you're a regular citizen

Thank you! I just contacted an ambassador but I will look into this as well. So tired of the embassy hanging up on us.

Hi all,

sorry to respond only now.

@kikibozu yeah looks like your are in the exact same situation I was.

So I had sent an email to the embassy asking why I was not able to schedule an appointment in august knowing my med appointment was in august.

And they responded like 10 days later at 2pm asking me to come to an interview the next day at 1pm.... The email was also telling that if I didn't have my medical exam before the interview it was not a problem. I could complete the med exam later and send the results to the embassy to complete the process.

It's good you guys already paid for the fees so you'll be ready to go if like me you are asked to go the day before...

In the end I wouldn't be able to say what one should normally do if no appointment are available on usvisa-info. I guess send an email as I did but I'm pretty sure there's no need to send the DS-2001 anymore.

Good luck, let us know

Hey, good to hear! The embassy and ambassador never answered us, so we just kept checking usvisa-info, and (miraculously) one night it finally allowed us to choose a date in August. So we took August 13th, and my fiancé did his medical with no problem on August 4th.

However, I just got an e-mail from the embassy saying they have scheduled our interview on August 12th. That's definitely not right, and it says so on our usvisa-info account. I guess we have some more e-mailing to do. :(
