K1 Visa - technical problems again!?

After several weeks delay because of the US visa hardware problems and the German mail strike I finally had my interview at the General Consulate in Frankfurt last week thursday. The interview was super easy, the visa was approved and I was told that most probably the visa would be printed the same day or the next. Since then I've been waiting for the information that the passport has been sent out in the mail - but nothing! CEAC status is still on ready, the passport is still in the embassy after more than a week. On wednesday I sent an email to the consulate and received the following answer today:

"Reference is made to your inquiry. The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is experiencing technical problems with its visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability. Please be assured that we will expeditiously process your application to completion once the technical issue has been resolved."

So it seems there are again technological problems? Are there other K1 filers with similar experiences?

I'm wondering if these technical issues are also a reason for my documents being lost within the embassy because their system is acting up. So sorry you have to sit and wait for them to solve this now :(

I have been waiting for communication from the Frankfurt embassy as well. Not the visa yet, but it seems they are definitely overloaded and slower than usual at the moment.

This is crazy. When my wife was going through that Embassy, they were on it. They were pretty much too fast for her.

I have a question for anyone who has recently had an interview at the embassy in Frankfurt. Did you send in the original documents in the mail before the interview date? I was looking over the email from the NVC which had my wife's appointment date at the embassy, and it said the interview date is july 22, 2015. Then i started looking at the embassy's website for any special thing to do before the interview, and i noticed it says "send in the originals before the interview date". Also, when she was on the website to input an address for them to send the completed visa/passport to, it didn't say there was an interview date. Can someone walk me through the steps they took prior to the interview? We're stressing out now because we worry we didn't mail anything to the embassy yet, and on the website "ustraveldocs(dot)com/de" it says there isn't an interview... we are worried because the email we got from the NVC specifically stated the date and time of the interview. Please help me, thank you!

Hi Tiberius, 5 weeks??? That is terrible... I'm basically sitting on packed bags and had hoped to be in the US by now. Its "only" been 12 days since my interview, but I was told that I would most probably get my visa within a week and my status is still on "ready" too. All other applicants that day were also told that the visa would arrive in one or maximum two weeks. I wonder why they communicate that if they already (or still) had problems to issue visas at that time. According to the email I received its not a problem specific to Frankfurt though.

Well, at least it might explain why they are so slow with everything else. I haven't even gotten to the interview stage yet, but I have not even gotten an email response to an enquiry I sent days ago.

So since yesterday there is the following announcement on the website of the American Embassy in Germany:

"Important Notice
  • Due to recent systems outages, we are unfortunately unable to accept DS-160 visa application forms that were submitted prior to June 10, 2015.

If you submitted your online form on or before June 10, please complete a new form before attending your appointment or submitting your interview waiver application.

Please note that this has no impact on cases that were interviewed prior to June 10. The U.S. Embassy/Consulate regrets any inconvenience.

I wonder if that also affects people who already had their interviews? I submitted my DS-160 exactly on June 10 and had my interview on July 9th.
