Unable to get NSO marriage certificate a ASAP, can i use local civil registrar-certified marriage certificate to file for I-130 petition?

hi, im a LPR in united states and last may2015 i went to my home town (philippines) to finally tie a knot to my long time boyfriend. And we hope to file for the petition as soon as possible.

but apparently, NSO takes months to process marriage certificates, they said that we can get ours, 6-12 months. how annoying isn't? we went to the civil registry office to expedite our license but apparently, we are too late to file for it.

now, question : Can we send a local civil registrar-certified marriage certificate with the petition?

Yup unless your service center ends up to be Nebraska.

Nebraska is notorious for demanding the NSO version.

California and Vermont is fine with the LCR copy.

what do you mean by that? i live it california and as far as i know, filling of petition I-130 will be mail to phoenix, AZ

Yours will be California Service Center so no worries.

We passed Local certified true copy of our MC for i130 with no problem. Our case was forwarded to CSC.
