GUZ interview beneficiary resume question

Hi,

I noticed in the GUZ checklist that my wife (beneficiary) needs to provide a resume both in chinese and in english.

I can translate her resume no problem into English myself.

Do I really need a notorial certified translation for her resume?

does it say 'notarial translation' ? yes? no? if yes, she knows where to go, it's the same place that created the white books. if no, well, you do it.

Hi,

May not be enough time to have the local notary in Hubei Yichang, China do this.

Is is possible for my wife to have this done in a public notary in Guangzhou? Does anyone know a good translation service in Guangzhou?

unsure about Yichang, but Wuhan has same day, next day, 2 day service for additional charge. does YiChang have fast service for extra fee?

I really am asking you to review what's in front of you, reading it, and tell me if 'translation' or 'notarial translation' is in that sentence/list.

This was in current IV checklist at usatraveldocs. I don't know if the part about translations refers to a resume or just government documents:

Resume: "Provide a detailed resume (in both Chinese and English), including all professional and educational history.......

Then later on there is another paragraph regarding Translations:

"All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. A competent translator must certify the the translation and swear to the accuracy of the document before a notary public."

Though I can't imagine something as simple as a resume would need a notary and professional translation services. Its something a husband and wife would work together on. Translation services don't even offer public notary.

My understanding is that public notaries in China only translate government documents (marriage certificate etc.) They wouldn't hand out a whitebook for a resume.

So I can provide a chinese and english resume without the consulate looking for some statement of translation or a "white book"?
